Christina,

HA HA, I`ll remember you in my will. I know for sure you`d appreciate my yarn choices. lol

No way should you wipe out any of your yarn budget for these shows. If there`s anything really cool I`ll tape it and send it to you. Right now, they`re working out the kinks (I hope) and it`s very elementary stuff, which is great if you`re learning, wish I`d had it when I was learning. It`s great to see the knitting shows on, finally!
Benne

"...otherwise what in the world woild I do with all this yarn?"

Why send it to me of course! We always buy the same thing.

I don`t have cable, but a knitting show makes it a bit more tempting. Glad to hear they aren`t that great, paying for cable would wipe out my yarn budget.

Marion,

Much to my surprise, my girls don`t knit either. Eldest DD doesn`t knit or crochet, youngest DD crochets. She`s a southpaw and I think I may have to learn continental to teach her to knit, which I`d like to learn anyway. I may need to get an intensive on hands-on tutoring session for that. How about it Theresa? They both like me to knit for them which I`m really happy about, otherwise what in the world would I do with all this yarn? ;-}
Benne

I thought the second show wasn`t as good either - and although it didn`t mean to, kind of demeaned that novice knitter a little. She sort of kept getting in the way. I liked the colours, but didn`t think much of the shape of that baby jacket either - and done on #17 with 3 strands (worsted Noro, was it?) held together, the child won`t be able to move, LOL! I pick up stitches the way she does, BTW - remembering the lengthy discussion about it earlier in the week.

I liked the first show, though it`s a little frustrating for an more advanced knitter at this point, I suppose. It must get more complicated as it goes on - wasn`t it a bizarre feeling to be watching knitting for knitting`s sake on telly, without it being a peripheral in a film or something??? They had a camera which showed the knitting from the knitter`s perspective - why didn`t they use it more?? And I couldn`t believe that statistic - the number of women under 35 knitting increased by 400% bewteen 1998 and 2002, could you?

Eileen.

I watched both shows,what did you think? I`m really glad to see knitting shows on the air and I hope beginning knitters could follow the info offered. The Edith Eig show had good info but it was hard to see what she was doing. I think the Knitty Gritty show showed the detail better but I would tell them don`t show it upside down so much. Show the knitting as it is seen by the knitter. But all in all I`m just thrilled we knitters are getting some airtime!
Benne

Off to watch the new knitting programme on the DIY channel - I wanted to tape it for you girlies, but for some reason we can`t get the VCR to record. I never usually watch TV, and saw no point in getting premium cable - DH wanted it for the Yankees channel that he can`t live without - but now I`m happy!

Eileen.
