Thanks for answering, Ann. I think I get it. Do you mean that in a stockinette *only* pullover, the yarn would tend to pull on the bias because of the way the yarn is spun/made? Are there many yarns that do this and we just don`t know because not every seller takes the time to mention it?

Hi Beatrice,

This recommendation is generally given for yarns that tend to knit on the bias in stockinette. Pattern stitches, particularly those with an even number of knits and purls on the RS and then on the WS of the work will overcome this problem.

Sewed and blocked my little Sirdar Snowflake top last night! What a sense of accomplishment to finally finish something (even so simple) and have it turn out how you wanted. Will get DH to take a photo of me wearing it and post it.

Question: when a yarn recommends that it not be used for stockinette stitch (like the Classis Elite Illusion) what is the reason? I`m thinking maybe it`s because of potential unravelling/separation?
