Check out the patterns at www.vermontfiberdesigns.com. They are really nice - interesting without being overly trendy. And they come in sizes up to 5X. I wrote to her and said I hoped Elann would carry them. (Hint, hint, Ann) She is going to have suggestions with each pattern for alternate yarns. I see most of the sweaters in either something from the Peruvian Collection or Endless Summer. Yes, I am back from the Whippet show. Too busy to even make it to a LYS. Worked on the ugly scarf I started to teach myself to knit & read at the same time. No reading done - way too busy. Finally I got so embarrassed by the ugliness of the scarf I switched to working on my neighbor`s alpaca gloves. Cate

Ah, thou shall not covet thy neighbor`s alpaca-that must have been one HOMELY scarf! Are you a breeder or handler?
I`ll go check out patterns now, glad you are back safe! B

Thanks for the tip. Very nice patterns. I liked several just as they were, which is unusual for me. Also appreciate the fact they are shown in size large.

I have a jewelry business (www.fittsisters.com) making breed specific silver and gold original designs. My sister does the original waxes and I design & go to shows. Annie came to this show with me because she is the Whippet person & has seven of them. I have one (Moose) that she bred. Moose is my bed dog & exercise machine for my two Scottish Deerhounds - Dogwood & Oscar. Moose was entered in the show and fulfilled my goal - he behaved in the ring. We are going to the Deerhound specialty in Vermont in May. My deerhounds don`t compete in conformation due to missing some vital equipment but they will participate in the lure coursing trials. Cate

Hi Cate, Regarding that scarf, it really must have been ugly to the bone for you to abandon it. ;-} But how did the Whippet show go? Have you posted pics of your babies for us to ooh and aah over? I think there are lots of dog lovers here and I can show your pics to Max and Belle so they can have online buddies too. :-} I like the patterns, especially the red pullover and the fir cone (I just mangled the name) shell and cardigan. It`s very nice that all the sizes are available. Some of these European patterns kill me. I am a size 8-10, 36 A (I`m being generous here) and I have had size large European patterns come out too small. I am not into that Goldfinger (dating myself again) painted-on fit. I think the Quecha would be fabulous for the patterns I liked best. Cate, I found a copy of Knitting Around the World by Threads. I have my name out there on lists if one comes up. If I am contacted about it, are you interested in a copy? E me at benneferrell@mindspring.com if you`re interested and I`ll give you some particulars. Benne
