I finished the Casual Cables in Alpaca last week and have been wearing almost daily. I haven`t noticed any piling or fuzzing. I love it! It`s so soft and warm. When it comes back better watch out - I`m definitely getting more!

Made a hat from the 100% Alpaca, a bit too big & now it has stretched but it is lovely and no pilling. Almost finished with first glove from the 100% Alpaca - cables on back of hand. Knit on #2 needles there is almost no stitch definition & I have been wondering about pilling. But the gloves are a gift & my friend can deal with any pills. Also trying to knit the Soft Cables Mobius to go with my hat but have this small problem of dozing over my knitting and losing track of where I am with very ugly results. I may just switch to an all ribbing mobius but all that is my fault not that of the yarn. As you can see, I really like the 100% Alpaca. I ordered Quechua also and plan to knit more gloves with that.
Cate

am knitting a sweater (still - but had put it aside for a while) in Uros. Knits well, feels great, kind of like the Brown Sheep wool with the titch of mohair. (can`t remember the name) I don`t get the feeling that it will pill.
Les

My daughter has been wearing a hat, which has the lining made out of Uros, for a little while now. It has not fuzzed any further with wear. It still has the slight halo that it had when first knitted, but no more, and absolutely no signs of potential pilling... Of course, a hat does not get the same type of rubbing or wear as the underarms of a sweater sleeve...

I have been getting started on a scarf with the Quechua and find it pretty hairy but nice and soft. So far I have not been happy with the needle-yarn combination but with a bit more experimenting I`ll find the right guage. Also have been thinking of an alpaca (old stuff) and the quechua in a woven project. Haven`t tried the all wool or the Uros yet.

I originally ordered the Uros with a special sweater for my husband in mind, Marion - but once I got it and swatched it I realised that it has really quite a noticeable "halo", and is probably not the most masculine-looking yarn to use, LOL! But you`re a girlie, so it shouldn`t be a problem! Heehee

Cables look fine on it - it`s not super-furry or anything. That being said, I have only swatched it - I haven`t worn a whole garment made from it for any length of time, and I haven`t washed it. Both of those could make it fuzzier. Is anyone wearing their Uros now that can offer any input - I`d like to know about this too???

Eileen.

Has anyone knit with more than one of Sierra, Wool, Uros and Alpaca? I`m specifically wondering about fuzzing on Uros, stitch definition on all of them (it`s pretty good on Sierra, as you can see from Shui Kuen`s lovely top and as I know from the Celtic Cardigan I`m (still) working on.)
I want to do another of the cables and fans cardigans with inset sleeves, and because I fell madly in love with one of the colors of Uros, but stupidly didn`t buy it, I`m thinking of that, but the yarn seems to fuzz a lot. Comments?
