There`s a recent past article in knitty.com that reviews the Denise set. I like Denise because the tips are very pointy and because the needle part is longer (and more comfortable for me).

There are two major sets of multiple knitting needles/cables. Denise is one, and it is very compact and made of plastic. Boye makes another one, which is a bit bulkier and made of metal - Herrschner`s Price on the Boye is usually better than any other I see.
The idea is that you can put any tips (Solid part of needle, which is the part that controls the size of the stitches) with any length of cable (soft part of circular needles) and that you can also have one size needle on one end and a different one on the other, or you can make a very long "straight" needle by attaching a long cable to a point, and then another long cable to a point. They are also good for "traveling" and to have around whenever you might need a needle you thought you might never need.
I`m sure you knew most of this, but when you teach the students I teach you learn not to take anything for granted, so forgive me if the explanation seems too simplistic: it`s no reflection on you!
BTW, Mommineedles, I`m e-mailing you privately about some 10" needles I tracked down.
Theresa

It`s this very sane and tidy set of needles and interchangeable cables. They were around in the 80s, and have just come back onto the market. I am far too scattered to own a pair, but am hoping for ADDIs instead.

B

Thanks for the help with this. I found the Denise set on stitchesmarket.com and I`m going to order it. Surprisingly, I also found the SWAK bag quite by accident at woolbin.com. The bag doesn`t have alot of pockets, but it looks to be just the right size and it zips shut. Let the dog knock that over!

Thank goodness for internet yarn stores. When we moved to our remote location I had almost 10 years off of knitting while I had no convenient access to products. Then came the internet. My life is better now.

Probably depends on what you consider wonderful. I like the Knit Sacks and think the larger backpacks must also be nice, but they don`t have many pockets. Then, there is the canvas bag in the back of all the magazines lately, with an internal frame and lots of pockets, but not glamourous. I know a woman who makes very nice bags, and she will put in any pockets you want, but she isn`ton the net. For sheer pocketness, the Ameribag, which is teardrop shaped and feels less heavy on your shoulder than it really is is wonderful, although I don`t know anyone using one solely for knitting.
I like knitting bags not to have velcro or zippers. I figure I can always sew i a pcoket if I want one badly enough.

I have decided that I need a full set of circular needles so that I won`t get to a neckline again and realize that I`m in trouble. Having decided that, I think I`ll get the Denise set as I have heard quite a bit of positive info about them (anyone know anything to the contrary?). Now, where to find them. As we live in the middle of nowhere, I need to find them online and I`d really like to find them in Canada (although sometimes you just can`t). Can anyone point me to a website?

I`m also looking for a wonderful knitting bag. Any suggestions or directions there? Once I saw a cute bag from an online knitting shop in Ontario "SWAK" (Society for Women Addicted to Knitting). Now I can`t find that site. Amazingly, a search of SWAK gets me another knitting outfit. The SWAK bag may not have had enough pockets to meet my needs, I don`t recall. If anyone knows where to find a great bag, I`d love to know.
