I`m putting together the fold-back cardigan in Rowan Java.It is a stripe,so everytime I change colors(every2-4or6 rows),I knot the change color and the color on the needles together. So now when I sew it together, I snip off the ends of the knots and the seam looks messy. I could have carried the yarn, but that wasn`t practical. Anyone know a better way for next time?

Hi Yelena

Try leaving your ends about 3 inches long as you knit. Then, after you have sewn the side seam, plait the ends. Tie the bottom tightly, and tack the braid neatly to the seam line. Works very well.

Alice
Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

I`ve started a sweater that has 2-row thick stripes in six colors, and I`m having trouble deciding what to do when switching colors. I tried carrying the colors up the side of the garment but because there are multiple colors and they repeat every 12 rows, it is getting very bulky and the stitches are unwieldy at the seams. Does anyone have some advice on the proper way of doing this? Thanks.
