Beautiful Shawl
|
Wow Patricia you shawl is just breathtaking. I love the color. Not crazy about lace in variegated yarn. It seems to hide all that hard work.
Is it for you? I don`t think it could be ripped out of my hands if it was mine :-)

Scotland was Wonderful

Sounds like a wonderful trip Alice. And glad to see you made it home safely. I have a friend in Helensburgh not far from Loch Lomond. She knits and she is 20 something. Her mum knits and so does her sister. :-) I think they are just hiding. She does complain about limited yarn choices. And envys our many many sources.

School is Out!!!!

ohhhhhhh Cheryl I think Benne is right, the doctor is elimating the worst first.
Three years ago I had two stents put in, and told I had about 2 years to go. Well that was a shocker. I have a new doctor and my treatment has been modified and hey I am working on year 4.
You have a cup of tea, eat some chocolate, love the kids and enjoy the summer. You have been working so hard. Time to slow down and refuel the batteries, missy. Time for some "me" knitting :-)
And so here are all of us, sending you hugs and good vibes and some of our orneyness (sp?) We are defending you with our knitting needles at attention :-)

Thanks for the posting the pictures Eileen. What a beautiful baby. And T and family are just glowing. The coat is indeed a future heirloom as is the beautiful blanket. You ladies are just so creative.

I am in Virginia, about as far from you as can be. No DH isn`t interested in going. He is devoted to his lawn :-)You need to reseed in the fall or debug or something. And to think grass grows wild in nature ;)
From here I would need to fly to Chicago and change planes. DD was in Vancouver last summer so I remember the changing planes stuff. Then on to Vancouver and onto you. A long trip only because of the stupid heart problems. I tire easily.

woohoo I found another of the pattern a day calendars Cate. Not sure if you still want it, but it is free. Found it in the dark recesses of the LYS I teach tatting at. Mind it has been out for customers to look at. It looks like all the patterns are there, but I haven`t seached through it. The owner told me to take it if I wanted it so badly :-D (cocker spaniel eyes)

ahh good. I have to go to the hospital this morning for some tests. If not today then tomorrow. Hopefully you will have it by the weekend.
I had asked several times at the yarn shop if she had the calendar. And she kept telling me they were sold out. When I pointed this one out to her, she said "Oh but that one is used" Silly cow, she is lucky I didn`t impale her on my tatting shuttle :-)
I said, what are you going to do with THIS ONE. (cocker spaniel eyes) Her: "Oh do you want it?" Me: (shy damsel)"Oh, could I?" It was in my tote bag as quick as possible. Before she could think about it 
I hope all the patterns are there, it looks tight in the box, and not to manhandled.
We need to buy these in bulk this year. Selling them on ebay could finance a trip to Scotland :)
