I almost lost mine once, too, because it was too loose. I`ll be joining your appeals to St. Anthony. :)
Only half-joking: a little pretty yarn strategically crocheted on the inside of that wedding band might help keep it on until you have it tightened, or your finger gets back to normal...(I`m wondering where did this idea spring from.)

A question about the Swallowtail Shawl
|
I am ready to start the Lily of the Valley charts, according to the pattern, but wondering if I have enough yarn to make the previous section a bit larger. I have a little more than the same amount used so far, and it will not be easy to frog if I run out.
Does anyone who has knit this shawl remember how is the yarn used proportionally between sections? In other words, do the last three charts take about as much as the Budding Lace part, or a lot more?

Thanks, Bets. I know, it keeps growing every other row.
I could calculate the number of stitches knitted and to be knitted, but it seems too much work for a weekend in which I`m trying to relax.lol
I`m going to stick to the pattern, because I am very close to the total recommended yardage and have no way of getting more yarn.

Cool links! I think I knit combination (although I know how to "throw") but AM has a funny way of holding the yarn. I just hold it like my aunts used to, resting on the left index, and the right needle scoops it up, so to speak. It is a very fluid movement.
(I also tend to purl in what EZ called "the lazy way" because it is so much faster- unless I am doing lace and there are more right than left slants in the next row.)
But, as EZ also said, whatever method works...

Good to know they are making progress in containing that fire, and hope the weather keeps cooperating.
We have had so many fires in Northern California that last week, no matter where the wind was blowing from, we had smoke and sometimes ashes in the air for several days. Today there were finally hints of blue in the sky again...
