Marta What is the saying, "necessity is the mother of invention" or something like it? I got an idea in my mind, and (in a small package) learned a lot of techniques I needed for other projects. Luckily it worked!

CBM, Cheryl, Bets, Benne, Marta - catching up You`re welcome, Marie! And thank you for all the wonderful patterns. You`re very generous!

Thanks also for the kuddos on the baby sweater. I`m sure you can do anything you put your mind to, and if I can help in any way, let me know.

SK: How did the straw into gold project go? Good question, Jamie! The peek on the left corner of the picture was tantalizing...

CBM, Cheryl, Bets, Benne, Marta - catching up Oh, that`s terrible, Bets! Have you looked at satellite connection? Just a thought...

CBM, Cheryl, Bets, Benne, Marta - catching up That`s what made me think of satellite - it tends to be everywhere, whereas cable or DSL may not. Good luck!

Marta Jamie, sorry I just saw your message. I did not steek- I am still too scared of that! lol I should have said "knit in one piece to the armholes" instead of "in the round". Sorry...you can see how much more careful I need to learn to be with terminology. Yikes...The sleeves were knit in the round on dpns from the shoulder down. I did not have two circulars of the proper size, so I delayed trying that technique, plus I had to confront dpns at some point...
If you`d like to take a closer look, I`ll be glad to e-mail you the regular-size picture. My addy is martardiasatgmaildotcom.

Happy knitting,

Marta

Ok, girls- Good to hear Suggy is doing well, and you are having fun.
I finally finished DGD`s Christmas dress (better late than never, right?) and started putting my Barcarole together. Also need to finish my Sierra cardigan (very unusual, two big projects for myself). The weather keeps teasing us with short spring visions followed by huge winter storms, so wool is still feeling good to me.

SK`s Clapotis variations available Beautiful, SK! Your variations make it much more interesting to consider a non-variegated yarn - so tempting! I have to look at my stash before succumbing.

Hey, WTG Daryl! Good job, Mom! I can`t believe how much more "grown-up" she looks since the last picture I remember seeing!

So this lady calls me today Good of you to say no, and please stand your ground, don`t let her talk you into knitting one of the simpler patterns for her - unless of course you really want to, and will be properly compensated for the rush job!
Some people have no idea what they are asking - or think they can get away with anything...

So this lady calls me today Benne, we were posting at the same time, but I sound way crankier - which I am, today...lol

Those prizes were not just symbolic... ...the haiku prizes for SK`s birthday, I mean! What a nice surprise, I had totally thought that the (random) kudos were it! Bets, you did walk to Brooks Farm, after all! It`s beautiful, and the rest is really fun, too. Thanks so much!

Marta

...who cannot be cranky any more for having missed Stitches West right in her backyard because of very annoying work that had to be done just at that time...

Those prizes were not just symbolic... Oh, it`s a long story and not the fault of anyone around me (or there would be a price to pay...). I had been insisting that a thorny issue should be resolved, so I could not excuse myself when it turned out I was right - and of course the timing was lousy. There will be other years...and lunch sounds very good, don`t you dare come to this area and not let me know!LOL

Thanks again, my prize was lovely!
