Goin fishin.........
|
Heading off on our summer holiday (1 week plus travel time) soon and I have decided to give fishing a try. (not sure if the rest of the family will be keen or not) We are not fishermen! I am borrowing 2 collapsable, lo-tech fishing rods from a friend and bought "fishing for Dummies" at a garage sale last month. We will be lake fishing from a dock or boat. There are rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon, Dolly Varden and white fish. I know at least 3 of you have fishing experience any tips about catching the "big one"? I guess I`d better get strong enough line! Any good fishing lingo so we can fit in with the "real" fishermen? How do you know if you should use bait or just a lure? What are the rest of you going to do for holidays this summer? Will you be heading off on your bikes, Benne? Les

Wow, Benne, Just for you I`m going to catch something - and sorry, but I`m going to eat it too!
I forgot about the net thing. need that for the big one don`t you.
Have to do errands in the city so will head to Canadian Tire and check things out. Luckily they have a shop with stuff at the marina where we`re staying. The lake is 400ft deep and 100 miles long. But I`d like to have something!! I`ll get some pliers (to cut the hooks out of my fingers) or find mine. maybe buy a tackle box and beat it up so I look like an experienced fisherman. LOL Thanks so much - I tried to print your info but I`ve run out of cyan ink - gotta get that on my errand list!!! Les

A little Self back patting

Good work Heather! AND, not even scared as you did it!! I think the time I was most nervous was with a presentation I had to do in my twenties. The audience was a bit intimidating, in my mind, and I was so nervous I was sweating behind my knees!! Since then I have taken a public speaking course and I no longer sweat it - as much! Knees stay dry! Got my fingers crossed that you get prompt responses! Les

Awww, Shui Kuen, I can`t believe how adorable little Beavy is!! I haven`t shown my kids because I know they will make me go looking for one!! Are the babies called pups? How many in a litter? Was the mom protective? I just love your Outback sweater. I`d love one just like that. looks so cozy. It would be perfect as a winter "Chinook" sweater for these parts. Your top down is coming along beautifully. Do you like the technique? I can`t believe you figured out the "going to the cottage" style sweater from a picture. You ARE good!! I started one last week and then discovered I didn`t have enough yarn. Will do it another time as I love that pattern. Les
