A near tragedy averted through modern laundry aids Oh, Benne, DH and I had a good laugh at that one! DH (who is a "lapsed Catholic", since he married moi!) said, "The upside is, I guess he won`t be asking her to do his laundry anymore!" What kind of fabric are the vestements made of? You didn`t have to iron them, did you?
What is that sinking feeling called when something like this happens and all energy is drained - anti-adrenalin?
Will have to pick up some of those sheets. and Cindy I think we do have them above the 49th! Had never thought to buy them to rectify some of our laundry crisis` (crices? what is the plural anyway) Claire has a sweater which could use a colour-lift!

The Easter Bunny is an Angora!! Too cute, Jean. This is our first easter that we don`t have the 3 kids home. Sniff, sniff, sniffle. the oldest DD is in Calgary studying for upcoming exams (I hope!) DH and I always put together a treasure hunt with about 15 clues, inside and out, in the house and the store.... Bought the treats yesterday, "trying" to avoid the ones I really like.........(which ones are they!!) but to no avail. The other kids are in high school and still enjoy the hunt! DD#1 will be quite sad that she wasn`t here!!
We`ll head into Calgary and pick up DD#1 and go to DH`s sisters place for festivities. have been instructed to bring our game of Bocce Ball! We know how to have a good time. Just hope DH and DSIL avoid any political discussions. DH has learned, somewhat, not to take the bait, but you never know! Being non confrontational, I just leave the room! LOL

Araucania Little Hippy Top have sent a pic of aforementioned top in /raspberry - Yes Bets, I have a ball about 2-1/2 inches in diam. left.
Re: Yardage
The pattern called for just around 300m and I used 3 skeins. I knit on a smaller gauge needle to meet the gauge of the pattern. So, I would have to say that the yardage - at least on the balls of Raspberry, were fine.

Re: Pattern
It is "Party Girl" in size 4 from Jil Eaton`s "Big Fish, Little Fish" book (available at Elann) with modifications to neckline as I know how kids hate to put a tight necked cardi on!!!!! This pattern has quite a wide neck too, but in the cotton, I figured it might not have enough stretch at the neck. I bound of 2 sts about 2-3 inches from the neckline and then single croched with the Turquoise Araucania. The ties with metal bead (so it will hang straight) were poked through a hole and sewn onto the back with a timeless piece of embroidery floss I`ve had for um, well, maybe, about 35 years!!

Margaret the model, quite liked it and she hopes that there is more Araucania out there.

Does coming to this site MAKE you a better knitter? Answer to the question....... Definitely!! You are all so inspiring and great teachers - and like you`ve said, this is a group who "get`s it"
If you only knew the "ribbing" (pun intended)I get from my buddies for instance: "Lesley`s on a knitting chat line, can you believe it?" and "Lesley`s new best friends" but hey, I`m a big girl, I can take it!! LOL

It`s snowing like crazy at my house! Yesterday it was in the 70`s and today we are expecting rain turning to snow! Aside from having to revert to winter driving skills on these deer and gopher infested roads, snow is a good thing. Keeps the ranchers happy AND I am taking the kids to Banff to snowboard tomorrow. My poor son spent about $500.00 of his babysitting money to buy himself new equip this year and he only went once! I do feel obligated to get him out again. I`m taking time off work and we`ll go on Wed. afternoon. Staying in Canmore and will do a little shopping as my DD is want to do. I`ve heard that they have a yarn shop there too!! Snowboarding will happen on Thurs.
Benne - I hope you can find your snowshovel. Ours is always MIA when we get these freak snow events. Your poor little hummers. Don`t look!

Les- does your DD want one? Bathing Beauty Top Took my DD and her friend to the Mall yesterday. 2 country kids all dolled up in their tightest apparel!!) Son, Hugh and I did some soccer cleat and shoe shopping. Went back to the mall to the bookstore and sat with a pile of knitting books only to have my cell phone fall out of my pocket into the wicker chair. Hugh and I went for a snack and as I was waiting for my food I realized that I didn`t have the phone - turned into a blathering idiot, got my food, left it with Hugh and ran back to the bookstore. They had found it and searched my address book for "home" and called. They got DD#1 who promptly told DH of my predicament. Chastized :-}the clerk, for telling on me - in good humour of course. I call DD#1 to tell her I have the phone now. Shopping girls meanwhile have been phoning me and phone home to see where I might be. DD#1 apparently has good ears and could tell that I was talking with my mouth full and so shopping girls find us. DD has bought her BF a shirt for his b-day. I ask her what size - she says Med. I tell her never to buy a guy a medium - get a large and say "I hope that those short sleeves aren`t too tight for your arms". DD exchanges shirt and we head home!!!!
