Good Luck to you Evie. I`ll be remembering when I had it done 6 years ago. Time flies. I had both knees done at the same time, so it will be a piece of cake for you. Be nice to the nurses and they will treat you special. Whenever anyone complains about a nurse, it`s usually because the patient has been very snarly with the nurse. And, Use the drugs when you need them. They don`t give out any gold stars for being stoic. You will heal faster if the body doesn`t have to deal with excess pain.
We`ll be waiting to hear from you when you can.

Wish List??? Biographies

Olive....I also do a lot of lurking. I love to read about what everyone is knitting. Since I only knit handbags, I don`t have much to add about other things. I don`t want to make a statement about an item that I have never even tried to knit, but that doesn`t mean I`m not interested.
The most important thing is that no matter what, I always feel welcome to come in and read and to add a comment if I wish to. I`m not involved with any other chat site except this one. I guess I`m spoiled with all the fantastic people I have met here. I feel like they are all my friends and when I`m passing a story on to another friend,(usually about Benne`s encounter with critters" I always refer to the Elann girls as "my friend".
So, wanting you to put up a bio only means that we are interested in you as a person, and we can relate to you so much better if there is a bio we can read.

Shelley...I`m in Ontario and I order from the US all the time. I have never had to pay Customs yet...just the occasional GST charge. As long as your orders are not in the hundreds of dollars you will be OK. I am always looking for Auracania Nature Wool but I find any Auracania is hard to find. There is one place I order from in Toronto called Yarnela.

Benne welcome to the club

Well, I`m older than most of you girls and I have the black and white style. Did anyone see the RN who was, or maybe still is, on American Idol with the white beside her face? That`s me except I can`t sing like her. You`ll never see gray on me...no thank you.
I have had blonde streaks ever since I was 18 and I`m never going back.
Actually I have a lock of hair that my Mom cut off when I was 4 and my hairdresser uses it to match my base colour. But this time, I was feeling a little bold and went all the way with the dark undertones and white blotches. I say blotches because it`s not streaks, or highlights, but big handsful of hair bleached out white. I don`t think it will last too long...I will get over it and go back to my original ash blonde with highlights. Amazing how a long cold winter will mess with our common sense.
Some of us don`t suit artificially coloured hair and others really need it. I`m the latter.
Benne, make sure you take a picture for us to see. I think you will look beautiful but I thought that of you with long hair. I think it`s the person we like and not the hair. The hair is there for our own benefit and it is an easy way to change your mood. And...it`s a little easier than losing weight or exercising. Ha.

Benne....You look fantastic. Your hair is beautiful and your face just lights up. You are very attractive and what a proud doggie by your side. He/she looks as big as you do, maybe a bit bigger.

I need some advice on my knitting...please

Hi there
I think there is someone out there amongst you incredible knitters who knows what the secret is when you are knitting in the round and you change colours and don`t want your new colour to appear to go up one round. That`s a long sentence.
I used to know how to do it and I even taught a few people but now I forget. I think it might be Trish who told us how to do it. Maybe I`m wrong.
