OT...An update on my woes
|
First the good news. I went to the parking office today with my new temporary disabled permit and they waived the 300.00 fine for parking in a disabled spot with an expired permit.
Second...My daughter in law has been diagnosed. She has "Minimal Change Disease". They must have been tired the day they plunked that name on it. If you google it (if you`re interested) it tells you all about it. It might possible be from her flu shot she had this year.
Third and the saddest....We had to put my kitty to sleep on Tuesday. I wanted her to just go to sleep at home with me but she kept hanging on. I sat up with her all night Monday and I syringe fed her water every hour and talked to her. Up till this time she didn`t show any signs of discomfort. By morning she had some bowel incontinence and when I tried to clean her she got very upset. That`s when I made my decision. I fixed her all up nice and held her for an hour and then Don took her over to the vet..a job he was not looking forward to. So it`s over. Someday I will be better but right now ther is a lot of tears.
Thanks for all your support. You can`t imagine how much you have all helped me get through all this. Evelyn (May the good Lord drop bundles of the best yarn ever on all of you.)

Trish, that hat!
|
Trish your hat is incredible. I love it. I`m so amazed at what some of the better knitters here can turn out. Oh yes, we`re all the better knitters aren`t we. Well, I for one, certainly couldn`t do anything like your beautiful hat. You`re an amazing girl. Good work. Evelyn

OT Flea medicine for my cat
|
My 2 cents worth You can get Hibitane at drug stores. That`s the soap we use to wash skin before surgery in the hospital. I think any antibacterial soap will do. I don`t mean the multitude of antibacterial soaps you can get at the grocery stores these days. Ask your pharmacist for the best bacteria killing soap that`s available.

Evelyn your bag...
|
Hi Laura I was just checking back on some of the chats and found your entry. Sorry that I almost missed it. The bag in the picture was a commission for a girl who ordered it before Christmas. She was a bit of an odd person so I had a funny feeling about her even buying the purse. When I called her to tell her it was finished, she said she could pick it up on the last day of January and will call first. Her first question was, "How much is it?". I figured she had to wait till payday, which is fine. So here it is several days later and I haven`t heard from her. If you are serious about it you can email me at don dot ev at rogers dot com. I can give you some more details before you decide if you want it. Evelyn

I need the pattern for the Harlott`s basic scarf
|
A couple of months ago I started a scarf that was in one of the Yarn Harlott`s books. It is a basic 2 row pattern but I can`t find it and I can`t remember it. I want to finish the scarf. Does anyone remember which book of hers it was in? Any help would be great. Many thanks.....Evelyn

Are you saying the colour is coming out of the yarn? That`s terrible. Maybe you should wash the yarn first.

OT - Update on my DDIL
|
In case any of you remembered, I mentioned last week that Tammy, my son`s wife was very ill. Well, here`s a new one for you. She has now been diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease. Yep that`s a real disease and a bad one at that. We went to see her in the hospital today and was very pleased to see some improvement. Some info. for the nurses: She is on 120 mg. of Prednisone, is having 8 units a day of Albumin, and on a Lasix drip of 480 mg./24 hours plus po lasix. Finally today after 2 weeks of no urine she peed over 2 liters. That was worth celebrating. It means her kidneys are doing their job finally. This meant she lost 9 pounds just today on a 12 hour shift for the nurses. Her total gain was over 40 pounds in a matter of days. Can you believe that. She was unable to walk or bend over or wear her shoes or clothing. I was so happy to see her today. She even had her rosy cheeks back. I wish you could all meet her, she is such a sweetie. I`m proud of her for all she has accomplished. Many thanks for your prayers. There is a God after all, as the saying goes. How true. Evelyn

Very pretty sweater Liz
|
Liz....That sweater is so cute. Do you know if it`s a boy or girl? I would love to knit for a girl but I have 5 Grandsons. Your baby is going to look so darling in your sweater. Maybe with your husbands suggestion of larger needles, you might want to knit a matching one for Grandma. Be sure to let us know when he/she arrives.

Also, Laura, they tell you not to use plastic dishes. Use either metal or ceramic or glass and put it in the dishwasher regularly. Who needs a vet when you have the Elanan chaat site? Knitters are pet experts too.

Did you know that Elann has little teeny tiny white boxes?
|
They sure do and I got one today. On Bets suggestion, I ordered some 12" Addi circs, two of them. They are the cutest little needles you ever saw. I`m sure they will be put to good use. Oh but very PRICEY....

Benne, that`s so funny coming from you. But those little boxes don`t come cheap. Mine held over $40.00 worth of pure delight. You ought to try ordering something small Benne. Your mailman would find it hillarious.
