No, No, No, don`t take away my white boxes. They are perfect for blocking my handbags. I couldn`t live without my white boxes. Don`t try to fix something if it isn`t broken.

Done with my vest!

I love the way Murphy models his knitted beauties but I must say I very much like the Lady in Green". What a beautiful vest. I don`t think Murphy could make it look any better than the professional knitter and model in the green. Way to go Bets. You know the colour is perfect for a Christmas Wreath.

For less than perfect hands, you sure make a more than perfect mitten. Does that mean I can`t use "the sore hands" excuse anymore for my booboo knitting?
I really like the matching sock idea. You would look so nice but you would have to leave your shoes off so everyone could see them. Glad to see you are feeling better girl!

Thanks T. Although I have no idea what you are saying since I haven`t even tried it yet. When I get it out, I`ll be asking more. I have some very good written instructions but I need the video.
Believe me I would love you to come her for a day to teach me tons of stuff.

Felting using Peruvian Sierra Aran

I felt every few days and I have never run across this problem. I have read about it though. You might avoid it by checking it every 5 minutes and opening it up and pulling it apart so it doesn`t get the chance to stick.
Last week I used the Highland Wool chunky, single stranded. The purse looked so light and flimsy and I thought it would be a disaster. Within the first 7 minutes of felting it shrunk by about 75% of it`s original size and is very thick. It was only about 4 inches across by the time I got it out. I figured it was garbage but I blocked it anyway with some CD cases.
Well...it turned into the cutest little "money pouch" so I`m making a very long i-cord strap for the young `uns to put around their neck. I love it. I even put a wild hot pink lining in it.It is the Highland Wool burgany heather colour and I put some flashy pink ladder sparkly yarn with it for the flap.
It`s really nice to hear about all the wools and how
they felt. I have some of that Patons SWS on the needles right now and Jayne has mentioned how well it felts so I`m looking forward to the results.

Billie, I love the way your hat turned out. I remember all the "advice" you got when you were just thinking of a style. Make sure you let us know if he wears it. My husband would say it`s nice and then never wear it. He is one of those guys who doesn`t believe in doing his coat up or wearing gloves or boots, although we live in a very cold climate.
Your hat is so nice that you could wear it if he doesn`t. Oops, don`t let him read this.

Grace....I`m so sorry you had to be hurt this way. I agree to give her one for Christmas. That would surely get her back. Actually you have to feel sorry for the poor old grump, going through life hurting people. I`m sure she is hurting as well because she knows it was something you would have not done to her.
There are many of us here at Elann who would give our last ball of cashmere to have someone knit our gifts for us. What kind of a nut would pass that up?

It`s Snowing Again...

Ha Ha Ha ....keep it there Jayne. It was a balmy day today here in southern Ontariop and we were out doing gardening with short sleeves. I was tempted to turn on the AC.
Oooeeee. I shouldn`t laugh. It`s going to hit us by the weekend.
I live in a city that never gets any kind of adverse weather. They can be snowed in all around us and we don`t see a thing. Across the lake in Upstate New York they get terrible weather. Poor things.

Good idea to put this question out there. I don`t have anything useful to say though. I used to teach new nurses and I always told them that you gather opinions from all the experienced people and then formulate your own way of doing things. I hope we get some good "opinions" on this subject from all of the experts on this site.
