Any news about Bets?
|
Hey, glad it`s over, rest while you can and be glad they took their time and did it right. :) You`ll be up to your usual hijinks in no time. I thought you said I got all your yarn???

Nuance
|
That`s, umm, interesting. I looked at it knit in red solid yarn and it looked really pretty. But, I agree, it`s scary in the green Nuance. Eileen, I would love to get together with you and T and some pattern books for another "design critique session" like we had at MS&W. What a blast that was! :)

Take it easy, kiddo, and get plenty of rest. Tell your husband no heavy lifting includes pots and pans. ;)

....ever had one of those days?
|
Les, I can completely see this whole scenario unfolding in my mind. I can also see it happening at my house on any given day. Ask me how steaks grilled in saran wrap taste. ;) I think I`d wash that yarn pretty soon, like Suzann suggested. Usually when I do this, it lands in the dog`s water bowl. It`s happened more than once.
Just think, tomorrow is another day. :)

Fall is so beautiful this year
|
The last few years we didn`t have much rain, so the trees were not very colorful. This year they are gorgeous. Thom and I took walks yesterday and I took some pictures of the leaves and the dogwood berries. My summer birds are gone and my winter birds are arriving. I hear them twittering in the underbrush. You can hear them, little White-throated Sparrows - http://tinyurl.com/yznfdm8
It`s been kind of difficult lately. The docs tried me on meds to help my esophagus but I had central nervous system side effects, some not fun stuff, so I had to stop taking them. They now say there is not a med that can help what is going on and the only way to help me with swallowing and eating is `procedures` done every couple of months. I`ve had three of those since surgery and if that`s what I have to do, well, that`s what I`ll do. Just call rotorooter. :)
The garden did pretty well this year and I put quite a bit of food in the freezer, I made some preserves and pickles. It felt good to see tangible proof that I got some things accomplished this summer. I am knitting a little again, maybe if I get some knitting accomplished and WIPS finished, my concentration and mojo will turn up again. That would be fabulous! In the meantime, you all are keeping me inspired with all your creative projects. Watch this space, maybe some knitting will show up! :)

Fall is so beautiful this year
|
Thanks, guys! A woman has to learn she has her limitations (to mangle a Clint Eastwood movie line). But no one said I had to accept them gracefully, too much like caving in to me. There`s always an upside to everything, I am pretty skinny, so I could eat Bananas Foster and it wouldn`t go to my thighs. Of course, I can`t get Thom to cook me Bananas Foster and I have already set the kitchen on fire so...:)

Personal Knit Book
|
Oh, I would really have to think about that but I`d have to have some Kim Hargreaves patterns, EZ patterns, topdown because I learned how much I loved that knitting the MacChick shawl back shrug a few years ago, stitch dictionaries, SK`s shawl patterns and now I have to think some more. :) The idea of knitting my way through a book on a schedule makes me feel panicky and like I used to feel beginning a term paper, you know, back before the earth cooled and I was knitting with dinosaur bones.

Jean, I thought of you and Dan right away. It is just too shocking to take in. I am just heartsick for the soldiers, civilian police and the families. Prayers and thoughts for all.

Bets, glad you`re home!
|
So glad to hear you`re home. Really don`t overdo it, that means no cooking and cleaning! I hear you about the adhesive tape. My last surgery left me with a 12" incision that started at my breastbone and went all the down. When they ripped off the bandage the day after surgery I told them they gave me a bad Brazilian. ;)

Flood Waters

I hope everyone is safe and the water recedes quickly. I`ve had more experience with flooding that I ever wanted and it`s so dangerous. Stay safe, all.
