Wooo-hoooo! It`s my KTMNBN!
|
Bets, that`s a very pretty tunic and it looks beautiful on ACB. Very pretty knitting too, Bets. That would be pretty in so many different colors - white, very dressy, bright colors for a really summery look, black with a sexy skirt for a special evening...

Are You Interested in Painting Yarn?

Alice, I`ll be there in spirit!
For anyone who can attend, I highly recommend this as one of the most fun things ever to do. The food, company, scenery, knitting, accommodations are all great. If I didn`t know how to knit, I`d still want to go. I never want to come home at the end of the week. :)

Attention to my elann buds - OT

Okay, I know y`all, you may hatch up a plan of some kind. I want you to know I love and appreciate every single one of you very much. I do not, however, want you to spend a bunch of money on me, wear yourselves out making things, or worry about me. You all have already done so much for me in my previous puny episodes and I haven`t forgotten.
I will be fine, I will be spoiled rotten, I will also be cranky, and I reserve the right to backtalk and be bossy with my doctors. I do not care that two of them were chief residents at Johns Hopkins, blah, blah, blah. I am also going to try and wear my House t-shirt to surgery just so they get where I`m coming from. ;)
I really do appreciate the thoughts, good vibes and prayers, they make it to me in Tennessee no matter where they originate.
Love, Benne

Thank all of you so much, I really will be fine and I`m trying to get the stuff done that I won`t want to deal with for a few weeks. Thom will survive living with some dust and he can always teach Faelan to run the swiffer.:)

That`s what I thought I`d do, wrap up in all those beautiful warm stitches, they worked like a charm before too. :)
I know you all, you are so kind and generous and your warm thoughts and wishes are just what I need and are deeply appreciated. :)

Grace sent me a box and guess what?!
|
It had a beautiful shawl in it! I swear, she had it to me practically by the time I finished typing out what the doc said! :)
I have been waiting for a sunny day but we`ve had rain, rain, rain so I took a picture on the porch. When Thom is home, I will try and get a picture of me wearing it. I love the ruffle, it`s very cool. Thank you, Grace! Now you can tell everyone the details. :)

Gracie, you`re such a rebel! :) It was very sweet of you and I love it, plus you can`t break a rule that wasn`t a rule when you sent it. But you`re still a rebel. ;)

Isn`t it pretty? I am glad to know the pattern name, Grace, because it is so classic, I think my daughters would both love it, neither is a frilly girl. :) I can see me wearing this with everything and everywhere - great with tailored things or more girly stuff. Thom loved the color too, and you know I love any and all reds.
The other thing is, I am still cold all the time and when I`m not wrapped in my blanket, I will have my Grace shawl and my Shui Kuen shawls to wear. I am one lucky woman blessed with the love and care of good friends! Benne

Bummed Out ~ OT

Libs, I saw your pattern and it was cute as a bug`s ear and well done. It is their loss, don`t think a thing about it. I didn`t find the calendars to be very well done, in the main, and haven`t bought them for a couple of years now.
Don`t worry about it, post it on your blog, put it on ravelry, and it will get the positive attention it deserves. You are a fine, creative knitter who knows how to write a pattern.

Current knitting obsession
|
Daryl, I think you are right and I`m going to cop to both the squirrel AND the magpie gene. I also understand where you are coming from Grace. If I did not buy another inch of yarn, I will not live long enough to knit all that I have. And I`ve decided that is okay because I know I will have yarn to knit when I will not be able to buy yarn anymore. I also have the ability to go through my stash and send someone a gift of yarn if they don`t have yarn and I like being able to do that. It is my way of saying I care, I want you to be warm, I want you to feel cared for.
I am not so attached to any one yarn that I cannot give it to someone and feel good about it but there are yarns I love very much that I want to use myself for the sheer joy of knitting the fibers.
When all is said and done, I will have enjoyed the yarn I got to knit and that that I didn`t get to brought me joy as well and can still be knit by someone else who will love it equally well.
The books and patterns can be read by other knitters and used to make someone else feel a sense of pride of accomplishment when they finish a project or read and learn how to do a new technique.
I am going to pare down my stash some and pass on what I know I will not use or someone else needs, and so I can manage the bins better. I will pass on books and patterns to others, maybe with the yarn to make a project from them.
My love of fiber and knitting and crocheting has brought me here, to this group, and to other friends and it is impossible to measure the worth of the joy and friendship that has brought to my life. So, for me,it`s all good.

It`s great that Karolyn is helping Sydney. Sometimes kids learn things faster from other children than they do from adults. It`s going to be great to be able to stop buying and dealing with diapers! Good luck to all of you! :)
