Ballet pink is A Hi Jonana,
Welcome to the best chat site ever. Wonderful people here. Scroll down to 1/26 and 1/29 and you`ll find posts by our resident wizard, MacChick. She gives the pattern at 1/26 and a clarification on 1/29. She also has several other patterns she`d posted here that I immediately printed.

Medical miracle for dry skin!!!!!! See, I knew all along that sheep are the perfect animal, yarn,lanolin, and they taste good (hoping not to offend any vegetarians but they are delicious). Not only that, they have the cutest babies in the world. Now, Eileen, get ready for me to reiterate Theresa`s lecture - GLOVES,GLOVES,GLOVES!!! I can`t help it, it`s the mother in me, I do it to my family too. Theresa`s right about the Cetaphil, it`s great and it`s not too pricey unlike most face stuff. I used to use Clinique but found I like the Cetaphil better. And it`s so much cheaper. I have also found Triplesporin ointment heals my hands when they crack and bleed in the winter. I think it would be okay around your eyes. Better check to be sure though. I`m going to give Bets lanolin a try. She`s not only talented, she`s a wealth of helpful info. Whatta gal!

Your six month review Well, I saw this and immediately flashed back to those primary school report cards and the "works to the best of her ability" and "finishes what she begins" with the X instead of the desired checkmark. Okay, it only happened once but it scarred me for life. So, Theresa, sounds like you got the X instead of the checkmark for "works well with others." ;} Since coming to this site you have all inspired me with your enthusiam and support and I have become more productive with my knitting. Notice I did not mention cleaning. Since coming here you CQs (cable queens) have got me doing cables again, thinking about CUTTING my knitting, and I`ve gotten prissy and redesigned my Evita pattern (almost finished). But most of all, the companionship here is priceless, worth more to me than any casual "face" acquaintance. But wouldn`t it be great for all of us to get together in one big room with huge piles of yarn? Knitters unleashed!

It`s almost here... Quecha Query Oh boy, this could get good. Looks like this yarn will be like Cleo, here one second, gone the next. Since I scored the Cleo, I will let you girls go for the aubergine which seems to be the hottest color but I want it, I want it, I want it! Eileen, there is a lovely celery green, very light and would go with lots of colors, perfect for a White Lies jacket. That`s what I have in mind for the parchment. I love the thistle but I`m afraid the color makes me look like I`m seasick. I think the charcoal would be stunning but I have been very, very bad lately (all that Peruvian Highland wool and Uros). I sure do hope this comes back with even more colors, am I asking for too much?
Waiting with sweaty palm and racing heart,

wonder if Arena, Capri and Bufalo are in our future I looked at the free patterns Corinna mentioned and these yarns are listed. Wonder if that means we`ll be seeing them soon in the What`s New section? I feel like a supersleuth trying to figure out what`s next. Ann sure does keep us guessing.

wonder if Arena, Capri and Bufalo are in our future The lineup must be the reason no one posts pictures of themselves wearing their creations.;} I think the Aubergine could replace the currency system. Of course, if your plan works, we would have to develop a black market dealing only in Peruvian yarn. I think we could force MacChick to knit for use if we promise her some of my ruby and buttercream Highland wool. We`ll just put her in a little room and slides little snips of it under the door to keep her motivated. I`m afraid I have discovered a cohort in crime. For the good of all, we probably should not meet. The both of us at once would choke the old devil. LOL

wonder if Arena, Capri and Bufalo are in our future Thanks for the info and free patterns Ann. I regularly cruise the yarns offered but with my advanced age ;} I am unable to memorize them all hard as I try.

Medical miracle for dry skin!!!!!! Eileen,

Might I suggest you use one of those pooper scooper things instead of your bare hands when cleaning out the cat box? Just a thought. (snicker,snicker)

To knit or crochet..this is the question I used to mostly crochet with a few knitted projects thrown in but now it`s almost exclusively knit for me. There are some things that are crocheted that I really like the look of - Irish crochet is beautiful and some lacy things.
I wonder if it`s more than just the afghan your son wants, maybe the one you made years ago reminds him of good memories or maybe it`s just as simple as he liked it and wants one. One good thing about it if you do crochet one, double stranded it will go fast and it really will be a labor love either way.

I`m sunk.... Marion, first of all do not count your skeins and patterns anymore. If you enjoy your yarn and can still find a place to lay down at night, what`s the problem? You can always lay on the yarn if you have to.;} If it bothers you to have so many unborn sweaters in the house, sort through it and sell what you`re not in love with. Otherwise, consider yourself a yarn archive and a woman who has the luxury of having the right yarn for whatever strikes her fancy to make. I like Christine C`s idea. Yeah, that`s it, I`m buying while it is cheaper than it will be when we`re retired. Like Bets I have some great yarn from the 80`s and there`s no way I`m getting rid of it. I am in awe of you two.

naturagarn And here I am suspecting all of you. You two are prime candidates and MacChick in particular (remember that casual comment about how much she loves yarn with the lanolin left in, a very sneaky little miss). I think it is obvious someone is behind this devious plot of baiting Ann into posting a delicious yarn that mere mortals cannot resist so the rest of us innocent little lambs will spend all of our yarn money and have none left for THE yarn. I also wonder about that sneaky little Scullyknits who has us all hoping she gets her aubergine for that "once-in-a lifetime shawl." Quite a play on our soft knitter`s hearts. This does not even get to Bets, who appears to be flying under the radar hoping we won`t notice her sinister plotting. And where is Theresa? Is she in cahoots with Marion and Christine C.? I think we have ample evidence documenting their desire to acquire the stuff of the gods. We know Mustangjudy can turn a mean cable and THE yarn would be perfect for her projects and Patricia has that DH who is learning to knit. Is she planning to tempt him with THE yarn? Jeanflores has been suspusciouly quiet trying to lure us into believing she is busy spinning on her new wheel. Spinnng a plan to acquire all of THE yarn is more likely. So many suspects, I haven`t even gotten started on everyone else. Then we have the new posters, is one of them a mole? Perhaps Ann is unaware of all this behind the scenes maneuvering and has been manipulated by a master yarn miser. If I`ve left anyone off the suspect list, it is only because there are too many likely candidates. We have until Tuesday to solve this dastardly mystery when the true villain will be revealed. (evil lol)

naturagarn And what about Fran? She has us all believing she is so nice and supportive. Is it a ploy? No one is above suspuscion.
Benne, who is totally innocent of any wrongdoing or yarn hoarding or snatching up yarn right out from under all of you ;}

`Fess up time.. Maybe we should all make a pact that if we kick off our stash will be distributed to the members of this page. We should make arrangements for a huge wake/party to be held and let everyone draw a number for each lot of yarn. Then let the trading begin. WIPs, UFOs, whatever, are a sign of faith that we will live to knit another day. As far as that unfinished sweater you`ve kept, I`m sure you could find a person here who would love to have it,after it`s finished of course ;}
Shamelessly lobbying,

the high price for getting Quecha I`ve had an inspiration. As penance and punishment for whoever manages to buy the most Quecha, they should have to seam all of our sweaters for us. We would box up our projects and send them to the selfish little ______ (fill in the blank with whatever epithet crosses your lips when you type your order in and get the "sorry, that item is sold out" message). Of course, the grand total would have to be verified by Ann so the correct culprit would get all the boxes. Before the aformentioned ______ gets through with all our projects, Quecha will hopefully be offered again. All of us poor deprived souls will get to order what we want and be happily knitting away with it while _____ finishes our sweaters having never had the time to even make a single swatch. Who me, vengeful? I`m feeling especially devilish today. I should keep a sharp eye on my cat, appropriately named Jinx.

Medical miracle for dry skin!!!!!! I just couldn`t help myself. I had this mental picture of you on your hands and knees cleaning out the cat box. Blame it on my perverted sense of humor and smart mouth.

naturagarn Okay Theresa, you may have dropped a couple of slots on the suspect list but I`m not entirely convinced it`s not just a very good act designed to throw me off the trail. As far as today`s yarn is concerned, I had to hold my right mouse hand with my left to keep from ordering this luscious stuff. Listen carefully, choose your colors, type in the number for the numbers of skeins you want, go to your cart and give them all that boring financial info, click submit order and Ann and her elves will send you a box. My last order was placed on the 17th and arrived today. Boy, are they good or what? You NEED this yarn so order soon, if you`ve waited this long, you need to get all the colors you want. If you feel the need for moral support with ordering,we can all log on to the chat center at the same time and cheer you on.

Nice job on Casual Cables cardigan, Farmin Garmin! Hi Sandra,

Corinna`s sweater is beautiful. I have the pattern and the cactus alpaca yarn but I just can`t seem to get those darned hats I promised done. What yarn do you have in mind for your cardigan? I will put you way down on the suspect list. This is just like Clue, I`m eliminating suspects one by one. The plot thickens!

A new pet peeve Hi Les,
You`ve just moved way up the list of those to watch in the Quecha mystery. If you get out of control ordering, boxes arriving at your door could be in your future.;} I know what you mean about patterns. The knittinggarden.com is a great site that Patricia, I think, suggested. Awesomeewe.com lets you search by gauge but the website is a little frustrating for me because there is no search engine like Elann has. As far as how much for an unknown, I usually buy enough for an average sweater - for me, around 1000 yards plus an extra ball. I have not decided what I want to make for sure with the color I hope to buy and have been combing all my patterns - I confess I have many - but I want it to be as special as this yarn. I am feeling the pressure of finding THE perfect pattern or this. And who said knitting was relaxing? ;}

Zitron Samoa and how I couldn`t wait `til March I received my modest (yeah,right) order of Zitron Samoa and it is fabulous. The colors are true and so vibrant and the yarn is silky smooth. Of course, I was just getting ahead of the summer tops game, you know, planning ahead and all that. Besides, we are all called on to get our stash level up so Marion and Christine C feel better about their treasure troves. Now, when March gets here will I be able to contain myself? That little temptress, Ann, is going to end up reducing me to picking up soft drink cans for yarn money. Hmm, not a bad idea but I don`t think I can do it while knitting. And at the rate my stash is growing, I should stop sleeping and knit 24/7. :}
