What not to wear=FCK #3 Eileen and Theresa,
I was thinking of making up the surf patterns and wearing them at the Maryland Wool Festival. You know, you can never be too hip. And I`m sure you two will really be excited to hang out with me.;}

Eileen, I haven`t received my Interweave Knits and yesterday I got so incensed about it that I called them and they said it would be the END of March! Grrr! Then I asked them for the code # so I could log into the subscribers only section and they said they didn`t have it and that part of the site didn`t work now anyway. I told them I thought they were not exactly the model of efficiency and snorted. Yes, I gave them my name so my Spring copy probably won`t arrive until Christmas.

free pattern for capri openwork jacket error? So glad you saw this post. I too sometimes have trouble with translated patterns. I blame it on the fact that I have never been to Europe and feel extremely deprived. :} Good luck with your new start.

ecasey did you buy the ivy zelda? Oooh Fran, you are indeed the temptress. I never thought about using the Zelda for an AbFab type afghan. I like the thick/thin but on sweaters sometimes it`s a little revealing for me. Not that I have anything to reveal. lol So you`re the one that scooped up the chocolate and ruby. Well, since I still have my ruby from last time, I won`t give you a hard time.;} It is really nice stuff and I too love that shiny element. We are a bunch of glimmer gals aren`t we?

corinna and jeanflores - casual cables sleeve question I started the sleeves and wondered how you handled the cable stitch pattern ending without the final p2,k2 stitches. The cable stitch pattern is 12+2 and the pattern calls for an increase to 70 stitches. My final section of row 1 after the increase ended with the cable section. Did I mess up the row or did you let it end there? I wondered if it would pull in an odd way when it comes time to sew the sleeve seam. Help, girls, I`m stuck til I hear from you.

Boy have you had it with sickness at your house! Sorry to hear DH has the flu and you`re on meds. Very, very sorry about the cost of the RX. Just what you wanted to spend $122 on, right? The bright side is the kids are better but we all know how sick DH`s are to take care of. Unless yours is different from mine, you have your hands full. Poor, poor baby Corinna. Does that help? :}I`m sending you sympathy vibes and hope all this mess is over soon and everyone get well quickly.

What not to wear=FCK #3 I logged on to the fcek site and looked at the patterns and was astounded once again by the number of things I would not be caught dead in or waste good yarn on. I did think the crochet skirt was cute for a young girl but certainly not this 52 year old. You know, that whole gravity, god, are these MY thighs thing. lol

Okay bets, how are the patterns in the new IWK? I won`t see my copy until who knows when after my snit with them on the phone. Go ahead, tell me. I can take it. This is your chance to torture all of us who are in subscription limbo. ;}

corinna and jeanflores - casual cables sleeve question I don`t know, maybe it is us Jean! I too added 2 stitches (72) so the cable section wouldn`t pull at the seam. I wanted to wait and see how you and Corinna worked the cable section before I went on. I worked the pattern the way it was written twice and wondered what I`d done wrong. Oh well, with my broomstick arms the sleeves are going to be really big on me. Maybe I can get wrist implants. Ha!

it`s my birthday and I`ll cry if I want to Okay, I`m 52 today and wondering where the years have gone. I realize I`m not totally decrepit but it`s all gone so fast. I`m not down, just a little stunned to realize I`m really not a kid anymore. Does this mean I can`t wear the surf knits in FCEK to the Wool Festival? lol Funny, I still feel like a kid (and probably act like one most of the time too.} I think I`ll take some solace from my CCD kids who told me I`d always be young no matter how old I got. I`m taking that as the supreme compliment coming from teenagers instead of a mark of immaturity. ha!

it`s my birthday and I`ll cry if I want to Thank you all for the birthday wishes. They really brightened my day. Ann, that`s one of the nicest birthday wishes I`ve ever had. I`ve found there`s a rock and roll song for every occasion.:} Happy BD to your baby brother. We Pisces are a complicated lot aren`t we? Les, if I could get packed I`d be on that plane pronto! Maturity is way overrated but good wine isn`t.:} Christina, you`re right, no way I`d want to go back and be a kid in years again. The heat`s off. Except for trying to get all that beautiful wool I can now afford knitted up!lol

Thanks, you girls really know how to boost a girl`s ego. DH accuses me of having a Dorian Gray painting in the attic. Not sure I think that`s a compliment. ;} I think our attitudes are reflected in our faces and that`s why wrinkles don`t scare me. If our faces are the road map to our lives I want to look like I`ve gotten off the interstate a time or two. lol I don`t understand all the people getting botox injections every six months at the cost of $3-400 a pop. What`s the matter with them, they could be buying yarn! Ha

It`s official, I adopting MacChicklet! She looks like you MacChick, and I love that photo of you two. Two lovely, smart ladies. If she get tired of the desert send her to me in lush, green Tennessee. I`ll have her talking like a hick in no time and riding on the back of the Harley with DH. I can`t wait to corrupt your Irish accent Eileen. :}

I`ve been told I looked like Cher before. I think it`s the hair and bone structure. Lord knows that`s where the resemblance ends, thank goodness. I never wear my garter belt aboard ship. LOL

Just for you Benne-25 signs that you`ve grown up Patricia! You have outdone yourself and have you been reading my mail? After I quit laughing out loud I immediately decided to print this gem out and email to everyone I know over 40. What a great gift and you went to all that trouble to type it out too. I feel so special! I think I`ve laughed more on this birthday than any other I can remember. And it`s all happened on this site.

Thanks Bets. Like another one of my heroes, ladies and gentlemen, Miss Tina Turner, you`re simply the best! I gotta ask, do you have those lyrics memorized from hours of singing along? My guess is yes, those and many more. :}

Can ya believe it? What! DH did not show you this mag? What`s up with that? Maybe he made the logical progression (1) I give Les this knitting magazine (2) Les reads magazine and finds pattern she like (3) Les finds yarn she likes (3) Les logs onto Elann and orders said yarn (4) Box arrives promptly at store from Elann (5) I give box to Les with "the Look." ;}

I know I`m stirring the pot but good for you foiling this dastardly plan to keep you from your much-needed knitting fix. I`ll let Theresa bail him out, I`ll just instigate. lol

it`s been a great birthday Thanks to each and every one of you for the birthday messages. I do not know when I have laughed so much and felt so many good wishes coming my way. DH is out of town working, but I did not spend my birthday by myself. All of my reliable knitting girlfriends came to the rescue and made it a special day for me. You are all the best!
