I am speechless - I don`t know where to even start...
For anyone who wasn`t `in` on it - These knitting angels: Amy, Barbara, Benne, Betsy, Bri, Chris, Daryl, Jamie, Joan, Libby, Lisa, Marie, Michelle, Sandra, Shui Kuen, Suzann and Trish - worked together to knit squares for a throw - Same yarn (Devon), several beautiful coordinated colors, different patterns, lovely lacey border. Besides all the time and countless stitches were good wishes and prayers. Also included, was a booklet written by each participant telling me about the square they knit and all the places it had been etc. (I love knowing all of this!)
The throw is beautiful and feels soooooo good! But knowing the history - the love behind it - (Post-0p directions said not to rub my eyes - but didn`t say anything about crying). And I must not fail to mention the lovely pair of boobs! Colorful and soooo soft! Big thank you Libby!!
I don`t feel I deserve all this - But LOVE it. Most of all - I am so thankful that I found elann.com and this chat - the members are all so kind and loving - not to mention knowledgable in all phases of knitting, yarns, patterns etc. No matter what the question, someone has the answer!! But besides the knitting - it has been an outlet to help to get through the tough times. Still a few bumps to go over, but I am sure - with all this love and prayers and good thoughts - there will be sunshine, peace and happy days ahead - with plenty of knitting, spinning yarn etc.
Thank you all!!!! Cheryl

What DO you have to do to DESERVE a blanket like this, anyhow? Because I am pretty sure I will never do whatever that act is. So just stop THAT train of thought RIGHT NOW.

Lib, Trish. I see my square. And it`s sewn in crooked.

You know Cheryl when I was knitting my square I was NOT thinking about anything to do with DESERVE. I was hoping you would like it, and that it would be warn and comfortable for you. And maybe make you smile. It was fun to see everyone`s squares and how creative they were. But NO ONE was thinking about DESERVE. We were thinking about you, missy

Cheryl, I am so glad you enjoy it! It`s full of love and good wishes. And Bets, "crooked"? For everyone else: Libby called Bets while we were arranging the squares at my house, and we teased her that we had sewn it in upside down. But crooked? Bets, are you pulling our collective legs?

Oh ladies, I do love it!!!! Believe me, there are no squares sewn in `crooked`. When I showed it to DS, he said how perfect it was. And it feels so soft and nice, I had to go see what the yarn was - I wish I could show it to everyone who says they are allergic to wool... The booklet will be put in a report cover and kept and I will use the throw (even though it is too pretty to use) and will remember each time all that went into it.
By the way - for my information, what is Big Grin ?? I had not seen that one before. I need to learn to use this computer, don`t I....

I am so glad you like it. It is great for those of us who have only seen one little piece to see the whole thing. The color muses did a good job with the picking. You can`t help but to get to feeling well quicker wrapped in all that knitterly goodness.

Cheryl,

I`m soooooo glad that you like the blanket. Everyone did so much work and there were people to do the edging as well. Trish and I had a blast sewing it together and the entire time we were commenting on what a work of art it is. We were also commenting on how we really didnt want to give it away. So if for some crazy reason that you dont want it, or feel the need to share, I know a couple of ladies that would be more than happy to help you out! LOL

I`m glad that you like the boobs. I left the sides open so you can stuff them or take stuffing out. Also the pockets are to either weight them or add mementos for you. I made them out of Lorna`s Laces sock merino yarn and it is completely machine washable and dryable. I have socks out of it and they are amazing!

And PLEASE use it, thats why we made it for you! Also Sydney and Karolyn snuggled in it to add good luck charms.

OK I`ll shut up now.
