For those of you nimble fingers at work, my admiration. For those of you suffering with the inspiration blahs, my sympathy. Winter blahs can be deadly on knitting mojo, I`ve been there. Right now I am cautiously sidling up to UFOs. I am in Florida now at my DD#3 for knee replacement surgery in 3 weeks and I am hoping to knit away the time. In a surge of ambition, I brought several UFOs here with me. Helps me feel in control of things. I`ll be here almost 3 mos, so here I go on the Luna Amerah silk top for DD#2. It`s a gold color. So hang in there all of you other intrepid knitters! Spring is just around the corner! Evie

I`m jealous. People have to peel your grapes and give you the remote.

Yeah, I`ve been feeling pretty blah the last week or so. We`ve had waaaay too much snow and it`s clogged up everything, hard to get out and walk.
Plus I`ve hit one of those weeks where I`m depressed and can`t do much about it. Spinning helps. Spring usually comes early around here, so here`s hoping.
Hope your surgery goes well, Evie!

ack! i hear you! typical january and february blahs I think, better if you get outside for a bit every day ( but it`s been -10 or so every day for the past week)..i`ve been hibernating and quiet, going to bed early and knitting and reading. Last weekend though, I braved the subzero temps and met up with a local knitter I met on Ravelry. That was really nice! Best wishes for your new knee! It will make all the difference in the world for you!

Evie, this blah thing must be an epidemic! I`m all out of sorts too, grumpy like that poor groundhog they wake up every year and make go outside in the weather just to see if he has a shadow. Who started that anyway??? It is a good time for your UFOs - get them done and get a new knee. :-)

Same here. Mine is I-hate-the-house-the-Army-gave-us-and-oh-joy-now-it`s-the-grey-of-winter. That said, Dan and I painted the stairway today. It was a dingy once white, now yellow from years of people living in this house before us. We weren`t going to paint it because we thought we were leaving this Summer. We painted it stark white instead of the tan we painted the rest of the downstairs. It`s so dark in this house that the white really brightens things up. I`ve walked up and down the stairs at least ten times just to admire our work. We put up a shelf and pictures. It`s like a new place.
I really believe that if we aren`t happy in the place we live it drains us of other joys. I`ve always gotten angry at others for not making the best of it in this transient life but I think I have a new understanding now. Every time we do a little something to make this place more of a home I feel a little better.
Peace, Jean
PS - Death to the groundhog! And I`m an animal lover.

Hi Evie Good Luck with your new knees. Are you haviang one or two done? I had both done at once 6 years ago. If you have any questions, just ask. You can reach me at don dot ev at rogers dot com It was rough for a while but I don`t think I would have gone back for the second one if I hadn`t had them don at the same time.

Thanks, Evelyn: I had one done 11 years ago. It has been really hard to commit to do the other, but I can barely walk, so here I am. Terrified. But looking forward to mobility and painfree. Evie

Good luck with the knee surgary Evie. My dr is trying to talk me into it. I have the blahs, cause we haven`t had any winter. I endure the summer, heat and humidity because I know there will be a winter. Not this year. bah. The Canadians are not doing their part and sending down the cold stuff. :-) Suzann

That`s for sure Suzann. We`re keeping all our winter stuff. We are all snowed in and can`t take another day. It hasn`t stopped snowing for over a week now and there is another week of it coming. We have run out of places to put it. Want me to put some in a white box and send it to you? By the way, most of the winter storms that we get here in my town come from the US mid west. You don`t get all your winter weather from the north. When you have bad weather in the Gulf states, you can be assured that in a few days our Canadian Eastern provinces will get the worst of it. However, enough is enough.
