I was in my LYS-- a very small, new and somewhat struggling venture--on Monday. She had some sweet felted tree ornaments, so I bought a couple, and as she was bagging them she popped a long gift wrapped present into the bag. " A little present" was all she said. I looked at it and thoguht-- maybe a gauge ruler?? Holy cow! The little present was Lantern Moon Ebony needles, and they are gorgeous !! . I had only seen pictures before. She had been holding her first order back for gifts for the regulars, I think. A lovely gift n`est pas?

Oh wow! This one earns a gold star. What is the name of your LYS and where is it?

Oh, my! I certainly hope your LYS is able to succeed, it sounds like she is someone who puts customer service at the top of the list. Maybe she needs some cookies for New Year`s from her regulars? :-}

IIt is "The Bee`s Knees " in the very small town of Warkworth Ontario. DOes get a fair amount of Sunday driver typw business, since it is a very pretty town, but not consistently busy. But we are all coming up with some good ideas to get her some exposure and are getting some good classes going, too.

I did better than cookies, I had a bag of the intensely wonderful, but very bad for you , Chinese Fried Walnuts, which are, in my family one of the ultimate, forget -to -make- them- and- I- die treats.

*I gasp in awe!*
What size, length?
What a thoughtful gift for her knitters! You and her customers are very lucky!
Ever envious, Diane

5mm, 10 inches. She knows that I use circulars for larger projects, so this is a perect size for me.

Wonder if they were freebies from the manufacturer? Doesn`t matter, really, the personal service does, tho.

Wow, how nice. That kind of service should keep customers come back forever. Hope she can keep it going. I live in that kind of a town, too, and I know it can be challenging for businesses, esp in the off season.

Sounds like a store that is friendly to visit....I love that. My Dad was born and grew up in Warkworth. I should go and see this store since I`m only about an hour away. Thanks for the tip Ellen. Wouldn`t it be nice if your post brings customers to her store. Then you would get even better gifts.

No,she had mentioned a few weeks earlier that she was putting an order in, and I think she kept them from her display to have as"special " for lost husbands to buy. I just forgot all about it till I opened them.
