The wraparound is really pretty. It looks so soft and cozy. It`ll be a timeless garment.

Thanks Jean! Isn`t it fun that we can talk to each other from so far away? Hope you and the kids have wonderful holiday. The Narnia/HP tour sounds fun (my kids would love that). Look forward to hearing from you when you get back.
Take good care, J

Having seen all the talents you have and now the great fruit, I think it is time for you to get a blog so we can see bigger pics and get more commentary. Join us, if you dare! ;) Bri

Bri, Clearly I could have more fun on a blog where I could stretch out and blather about all sorts of things. I`ll think about it seriously for this fall or winter. Doesn`t it suck up all kinds of time though? That`s my worry -- I don`t want to spend all day on the computer. What have you found to be the case?

Jayne, It`s not terrible in terms of time. I really enjoy it, especially the posting pics stuff. I used to write for my college newspaper and it`s great to have the ability to upload pics. Maybe some others can pipe up about their experiences, in case mine isn`t the norm.
Definitely think about it and let me know if you want help getting started. It`s so much fun in blogland with all the elannites now there with me.

I enjoy having my blog. It is the only way I will keep any sort of diary of my knitting. It is also a great way to "meet" other bloggers from all over the world. Once I figured out how to do the posts and edit some html it hasn`t taken much time. Cate

Jayne, I`ve kvetched about the History Channel, Dooney and Bourke, and Internet Pirates on mine. (`cuz I live such a swash-buckling life.) Two or three posts a week is sufficient.
Cate is the MASTER at succinct writing and really effective pictures. (BTW, Cate, I admire your style....)

Jayne, that settles it! You need a yarny, foody, booky, painty blog where you can allow your mind to ramble to many and sundry topics. You know you`d have plenty or readers. :-} B2

Well thanks for all the encouragement, y`all (I`m taking a tiny break from peaching). It really does sound like fun. I`ve visited all the Elannite blogs from time to time. Even though I don`t leave comments, I do lurk.
I agree that Cate`s is very well done, good going Cate!
Okay, well DH said it would be a snap to set up (he`s a genuine computer geek by profession). I have the camera...I could see having a blog of knitting, painting, poetry, photography, and just whatever grabs my attention that day. It would be good to write on a regular basis -- that is good exercise, almost like having a column. I`m planning to join a writer`s group in my community this fall.
So...tell you what...let me get my kids back to school and unwind a bit, and I`ll try to get up and running by October something.

I lurk and read several of the Elannites` blogs. Speciallly enjoy Cate`s for format, readibility and pictures, and will enjoy reading of Jean`s adventures again, but I like them all! Jayne, yours will be a great addition. Jamie

Jayne, Maybe this bit of detail is important. I was sleepy last night. It took me all of maybe an hour to get my first blog up and running on the blogger platform. Through blogger, there is a feature where you can email your post (not sure if it`s just text or if pics work too) if you`re away from the computer or something. I like that, given that I spend enough time on the road these days.
It`s great that you`re open to this. although I`m hoping it`s before October! I think you have really diverse interests and talents that would really shine in a blog.

Blackberries at the "U Pick" farms start early & end when July does, where we are. The orchard staff would just wait for us with our 8 QUART lexan containers, first thing in the AM before the sun was all the way up. (I`m okay with child slavery, so long as they don`t overheat.)
It`s all I can do to stop myself from posting our own pics; you NEVER see monsters like that in the supers.
So are those freestones? Mmmmmmmm.

They`re glo-havens, a freestone type with more juice and flavor than the fairhavens (the true freestones).
Glows have a blush colour on their skin, and when they are canned, both the peaches and the juice have a lovely colour.

Hi Jayne, I say go for it! I don`t post here as often as I`d like but I love reading about everyone`s "doings". I enjoy reading your posts (we are fellow Canadians, my brother is in Kitsilano, you have awesome projects - I am copycatting one...). I theoretically have less time to blog now than when I joined here at Elann, but it is so enjoyable that I make a little time each week. I really like the more detailed information that some of the ladies here have on their blogs and Knitting Blogland is so warm and supportive - I had resisted for a long time - odd for a "Techie" but now recommend it as a great way to communicate and make new like-minded friends. Happy Canning! Those blackberries look gorgeous! Karin http://toeshoespunkrockandpurl.blogspot.com/

I knew I could find you here :). "Regine" is Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, 80 cotton / 20 merino. I think it`s wonderful - my second top in this stuff. And yup, making the little jacket that came with the yarn. Mine is "Earth" - the "Torte" was sold out, but I think this suits my colouring better. (And it looks kinda like a melty, malted milk DQ Blizzard - yummy) Karin http://toeshoespunkrockandpurl.blogspot.com/

I liked Earth too. I bought my Torte last winter when it came and flew away. It was the first yarn that I signed on right at 9:00 to buy, and an hour later it was gone.
I like a cotton/merino blend. I like Brown Sheep. They always have such great colours. Might have to check out that yarn. The wool content gives the cotton a bit of extra warmth and "memory" doesn`t it?
I`m partial to the chocolate extreme blizzard. It has chunks of brownie in it. Mmmmmmm...

Hey Jayne,
I noticed there is another Suzie that posted yesterday. I caught on that you might think it was me and posted from her thread.
Looking forward to connecting with you all
