I was knitting EZ`s Knitter`s almanac month of July- the round shawl. For 3 years on and off, finally, ready to bind off. It is knitted with Jagger spun cotton/wool I got the cone 3 years ago from elann. It will be a gift to my mother as a table cloth. I promise, I will not do another round one for a long long time. It is a forever around and around. Anyone knitted this one before? SK

SK, I can`t imagine! I have knitted a shawl with the same yarn, and I`m working on Luna Moth with Elann`s Callista yarn, but a project in the round for a table cloth, wow! How did you like working with the Cotton/wool yarn, and what needles did you use. Congratulations on completing it! Bet its` lovely! Jamie

I love Knitter`s Almanac. Those patterns are timeless. Did you stick with her original or did you modify by her instructions? I can`t wait to see a picture.

Thank you Jamie. This is the 8/2cc cherry/natural cotton/wool. I started with size 9, it seems taking forever, at midstream, I changed to size 10, and later changed to size 10 1/2. It is so slow, I think each round is over 1000 sts. I like working with the cone yarn, no joining ends. The color will match nicely with my mother`s Chinese old dinning room table. How do you like working with Callista? SK

Amy: I follow EZ`s formula. Yes, those patterns are timeless. I did several of her pattern in the book. My next one I want to try is September nether garments, the long-leggings for myself. I wanted that for a long time, and have the brown merino yarn for it. Somehow, my knitting was detoured and the yarn was sitting in the box for 3 years. My mother knitted me several long leggings before. I myself haven`t done it yet. SK

Hi SK, I like the Callista. I`m knitting on US#7 needles and thought I was finished but I am going to do another repeat. Callista knits like cotton, not much give but the result is very nice. My hands couldn`t hand the 8/2 yarn on such large needles. I knit it on #6 needles. Jamie

SK,
I would love to see a picture...
I got Canapone last time around to knit either that pattern or the Rambling Leaves (doubling it to go all around) for a table top, too. Of course it is still waiting and I thought it will be a challenge, but if YOU say you won`t do it again any time soon, I wonder if I should reconsider. Was it just boring, or what makes you say that?

Marta, it is a lot of knitting (much much bigger than a shawl) and a good one for sit down and knit one row in between. It is my first round one, and I don`t need another one. I think Canapone will be excellent for table cloth, do make one, it will last forever and a good conversation piece. How are you, thinking about you often. SK

Oh, thanks for the encouragement! I tend to dream big, but as you see, the yarn has been waiting for a while...You describe it as a good news-watching project, which is what I had in mind - a little at a time.
Thanks also for the thoughts. Things are back to normal around here, which means trying to catch up with all that was put on hold, as well as keeping up with what "regular" life has been throwing at us. Time seems to fly by. I visit here as often as I can - it`s always a great pleasure and inspiration. Besides a few things for the grandkids, I have finished my first Luna Moth in S-Kidd. I want to make all your other patterns as well...
Thanks again!
Marta

I actually really enjoy circular shawls. I am doing one now based on the Daffodil pattern from Marianne Kinzel. The thing I like about them is that every row is different so no chance to get bored! The Daffodil shawl had something like 876 stitches on the final row and I am working on a knitted lace edging going around it.
