Evelyn,
How springy!! I`m loving it! Give us the details. What yarn did you use? Was it easy to needle felt? How many different colors are there? Are you gonna sell this one or keep it for yourself?

Wow Evelyn!
I really like the way you shaded the tulips on that bag. It`s very attractive, and the flowers look really natural. What does it look like with the flap closed?

Oh, that is WAY pretty! I especially love the sort of whispy effect on the leaves...

Thank you everyone. I make all my bags with Lopi. I`m using Lopi Lett now because they have such nice colours and I just double up on the wool. I love the fuzzy effect. The needle felting is done by first outlining the design with regular strands of wool. Then you use the roving to fill it in and mostly cover the outline. Then you add more here and there until you get the look you want. I find I start to knit the purse and by the time I`m part way through the rest of the design has taken shape in my mind. I love needle felting. It`s so much fun and nobody can figure out how you did it. It`s really sturdy too. Not going to come off. I guess the fun is what it`s all about. That`s why we knit. And I will be selling this one. I haven`t kept any for myslef. It`s just not me. Ha Ha.

I sent another picture of the purse with the flap closed. The pink flower beside it is felted as well. I knit some big squares of stockinette stitch, felted it and then cut out the petals and sewed it together. The pattern is in Nicky Epstein`s Knitted Flowers book. Great book for embellishments.

Very pretty indeed. I always envy those who can sew, never had a desire to learn myself and now when I need a slip or any kind of lining, I regret it. Thant`s the only reason I don`t make bags. I believe that even felted ones must have a lining.
A very good friend of mine makes some terrific bags and gave me one for Christmas (the one entered on Jan 1st) Here is the link to her album if anyone is interested. Tonns of great ideas. http://show.7ya.ru/private.aspx?Rubrid=114263&ob=0

Your bag is very lovely with the needle felting. I`ve always wanted to try that and will, some day. Nice closure - looks like beads? Les

Evelyn, You must have a great imagination to see the designs and purses you create in the Lopi. What a vision. Bri

Evelyn, What a beautiful bag! If I ever wondered what it would take to actually sell anything I made I just have to look at your work...design, craftmanship, uniqueness, it`s all there!

Thank you Les. The closure is magnetic and you have to cover the ugly metal thingie on the back with something without taking away from the bag. I had some beads that are the exact colour of the bag so I used them. I bought some of those buttons that you put fabric on and make your own fabric buttons. I`m going to needle felt a piece of fabric to see if I can make something more attractive for covering the ugly metal thing.

Svetlana....I have seen your knitting on your blog and I`m amazed at how beautiful it is. If you can knit like that, I`m sure that a little instruction on purse lining would teach you all you need to know about sewing. Your work is incredible....a true artist.

You girls are so complimentary, I thank you. If I`m feeling down, I just come here and you all make me feel appreciated, especially when each and every one of you is an accomplished artist yourself. I`m very grateful for our friendship.
