Some socks, a mitten, and a baby sweater. Got a kid`s sweater in time-out for an indeterminate period of time.
It`s been WAY too quiet here. Are the needles burning up or are we all busier than ever?

Seems like things get busier toward the end of the school year. I also have a bit of spring fever. I did start a knitting project on Mother`s day but I`m puzzled by the buttonholes so it`s on hold until I can figure it out. I have my crochet skirt to work on in the interim but I`m having doubts about whether it was a good idea. Hope everyone else is just too busy knitting. I`m looking forward to seeing some spring knits!

I`m working on a Collinette pattern the Arrowhead Jacket in corals and teals. I`m also working on an Adrienne Vittadini pattern that was on the cover of an old Vogue magazine from the late 80`s in Elann`s Sonata cotton/ purple. I just finished a Berroco sweater Wishbone (free pattern) in the Cash soft that was sold here last month. PatQOC

I`m curious-which one was it, Pat? I went thru and double checked my AV library last week....so sad that they are going away. Well, in truth, the yarn was spendy, but the designs were great.

Bri is right; it`s been too quiet around here. On the needles: chunky weight shawl (for donation); hat from recent Zarina (another finished-baby size); my sixth mitered square baby blanket (or whatever) being finished; another hat from Marble acrylic; plus a warp ready to make a scarf on my children`s loom. It`s all kinda play and also building an inventory for a sale in the fall. Happy knitting to all, Jamie

Still working on my bamboo stole using SK`s pattern. Love the fabric about 1/4 done but I`m finally comfortable with the yarn. It took me awhile to get the tension right on this one for some reason. We are getting new floors in our living room and bedroom and I`m going crazy trying to clean out both of those rooms. Reorganized my whole closet this weekend - got rid of some stuff but need to get rid of a whole lot more!

Socks from Knit One Below...but I made a mistake about 5 rows back, and fixing this technique without tinking is REALLY tricky! Last night, I finally had to admit that I`ll have to take the sock off the needles and rip back. PITA since I`m doing 2 socks at the same time!

Not a lot of knitting going on here, I`m into a reading zone. Finished a scarf for charity that had been OTN for months - took more concentration than it looked, so quite a bit of frogging back - and then did a hat in the same stitch pattern. Plus a couple of basic hats for my seniors` soldiers project.
When we went to a wine festival last month, I found a little shop with a lot of the James Brett Marble yarn, so I`ll be happily doing more simple hats that show off the great color changes in the yarn.

Bets,
I don`t have the Vogue with me at the moment, it was either the late 80`s or early 90`s. The pattern is called the rib-leaf pattern and it was on the cover of Vogue in white cotton. Inside the magazine was another AV pattern and several others by designers. I can look up the date of the magazine and post it tomorrow. PatQOC

What are you reading these days. I am trying to read all of the Oprah recommended picks and I have a book list from Goodreads. I just finished River Cross My Heart by Breena Clarke a story of African-Americans in Georgetown Wash. DC in 1925-a lot of good history. PatQOC

Dirty blonde, white sweater, beige background? Got it. It`s 90-91, in there somewhere.

Finishing the second sleeve of Cheryl Oberle`s mohair jacket, using variegated teal mohair and Plymouth`s 24K. Just began Ulmus last night, using two colors of Sockotta. Knitting a jacket for a friend from green and pink Tartalette, also a tee for her from Knitters No. 67, using Elann Calista in rose. A re-knit for my husband of a gansey vest from Melissa Leapman`s book, using KnitPicks Wool of the Andes in light charcoal grey. This morning I frogged the beginnings of an Alice Starmore gansey - too many other things going.

I`m all over the map, though none of them are recommended by Oprah; I`ve found I don`t usually like those books. Check out this Ravelry reading forum: 52 Books in 52 Weeks. I`ve been getting SO many ideas from there, fiction, mysteries and sci-fi/fantasy. I`ve rediscovered my local library, which has helped with a reduction in my Barnes & Noble bills. ;) I`m also in the Audiobook Knitters forum, and did splurge a bit on audiobooks when they were on sale for half-price - they give me heads-ups on good audiobook sales.
I recently finished Neil Gaiman`s `The Graveyard Book` and I`m in the middle of Cornelia Funke`s `Inkheart`. These are kids/young adult books, but well written and fun to read. I really enjoyed the Neil Gaiman/Terry Prachett collaboration `Good Omens`, so much that I bought it. As for romance, Lauren Willig has a series set in the era of the Scarlet Pimpernel; the first book is `The Secret History of the Pink Carnation`; it`s a bit tongue-in-cheek and great fun.

I`m on the 8th repeat out of 9 of Shui Kusn`s new Valentine Scarf pattern in rose heather Baby Cashmere. Love both the pattern & the yarn! After that, finish up a Trumpet Flower Cardigan from the Superwash Bamboo bag sale. I am eyeing the sleeveless medallion cardi from the cover of current Vogue for my other bag in Cedar Green...would be an interesting knit.

Actually getting knit, or just on there since 1991?
Actually getting knit is a tiny little Slytherin sock, right at the moment.
On the needles since 1991? Avocado Red Heart Super Saver drop shouldered sweater in a diamond knit-purl pattern, I ran out ofyarn and have been deciding what to do ever since. But since this is from my period during which I only started sweaters and never finished them, maybe it does not count? :-)
I read the second book of the twilight series, and a bunch of romances, and I have been reading a lot of my friend`s fiction. One of them has started getting published. And I have been writing a lot. Unfortunately, it does cut into knitting time... :-(
