I haven`t been able to talk about my projects for a while - I`ll be done with secret knitting sometime!

I`m taking a short break from the jiffy cardi to make a pair of socks for A4A. I wish I`d thought about this a little harder when Jean`s husband was deployed. What are you making?

HAHA! Yup, me too. I`ve been trying to focus a little bit more, because once I move to another project, the one on the needles usually doesn`t get finished....

Well, we should focus more-- but different projects require different degrees of alertness and good humour! I cannot rib a lot when I am tired-- it makes me cranky. Sooo-- it is a good thing to have lots of projects on the go!

Not much knitting time this week. Just 9 more rows for the Swallowtail and finishing for the dads vest. THough I`m not expecting to finish either for a while.

I am seaming up the ribby cardi in cranberry Sisik. Then have the front edging and collar to do. (as I speak, I am watching 3 female pheasants getting breakfast of sunflower seeds from the chickadee feeder. There appears to be a pecking order - oh, here is the male, too. They are hysterical to watch). I have a sock on the go which was started a long time ago. I am just reducing for the instep. There is a baby pullover to seam together, a cardi for DD, a scarf for a friend, and some other projects I have tucked away and need to find....somewhere. So, there are a few odd things to finish! I`ve got the second half of the clementine shawletter about to be CO and the back of the baby baseball tee in connemara from "Knit Together" done. There is a bumper crop of babies in my universe at present. So, I`m hoping this project goes well and can be knit for more folks in the coming months.
knitting my way through midterms! bri

Cranking out socks for A4A to mail on Friday. As many pairs as I can do which BTW is really improving my sock knitting skills. I have zero sock fear now. Then what`s next? I will be thinking all week about the prospects. Joan

I was working on R`s Bird`s Nest Shawl, but I dropped everything yesterday to start a pair of socks for A4A.
I`m hoping to make two small (DD size) pairs of socks and get them into the mail pronto.

Just found out that the lady across the street has brand new twin baby grandaughters. The thought of knitting them something has passed through my mind.

I`ve got the Ribwarmer vest, the Lion Brand all-in-one baby jacket and the Ribby Cardi on hold for Joan`s socks projects. We will not speak of the effects of the Oscars on sock #2; it is, however, to the leg and will be done today. I`m going to try the minimal felting idea, since the short-row heels are less sturdy along the mitered line than they should be.
I`m also going to include some extra yarn with the socks, for future darning purposes.

Active, immediate projects: hat and cardi for DGD`s first birthday, sweater for DGS (one of three, so his brothers` will have to follow in short order), and itching to start the Barkarole sweater for myself - probably tomorrow.

Just finished washing & blocking KP&S hooded tunic, except mine was done without hood...ran out of yarn. It turned out to be a very generous fit for me, am eager for DS#1 to try it on, should fit him well. I`ve cast on a couple hats with two different brands (Boye vs Silvalume) of 16" needles, to test the needles out. I bought them to fill out my needle collection to use mostly for seamless sleeves. My next big project will be a girly one after this unisex tunic! Either Reynolds Cabaret top with lace inset (Bets made it with Sierra Aran last year) or ribby cardi.

Today is when the NCAA men`s b-ball tourney starts. I`ve got my needles locked and loaded for a full 3 weeks of knitting. It looks like I`ll be working on another clementine, since I am having trouble gifting the first one, in some doubled laceweight from the stash. As if that wasn`t enough given my limited time, I also started a Pimlico Shrug from Knit Together. It should keep me going through April 2.
Tell me what you are working on whether you`re a b-ball fan or not.
Go Gators! Bri

Hi Bri!
I don`t like basketball, but hubby does, so I take this time to knit in peace away from that wretched TV with the blaring horns and squeaking shoe sounds. I am planning on finishing up two cardigans soon, the same cardigans I have been planning on finishing up for the last 2 years.

LOL, Trish.
My needles have been strangely quiet this week. I`ve been hearing a few mutterings and *ahem* from the drawer where I stuffed my most recent ongoings.
I think I will have a knitting day today though and continue on with the Atacama pullover.

ODU Lady Monarchs all the way. You have to see Jazzmin Walters in action. She is all of 5-2 and she dances around and under the tall players. Woman`s basketball and Premiership football (soccer) are about the only sports I watch. I have been corrupted by the evil Brits :-) Socks on the needle for CIC, Dulaan hat and socks for me or dd whoever gets in first. Actually I don`t think the STR have enough yardage do make her a pair. hehehe

Finishing(hopefully)the purple mohair top-down cardi. Love that pattern that Billie and then Bets referred me to. It has become my standard for DD#2 and works well for stash yarn which has marinated past the original pattern requirement. She vetoed lace as looking "moth-eaten" in mohair. I disagree, but as she is the one wearing...Then I have a ballet wrap shrug in lime green for her also, and a couple of socks, but I`m contemplating designing a top down purple cotton cardi for DD#2 with either a lace panel or cable down the raglan increases like the one in IWK.
