Thank you very much about writing to me about my own borderline hyperthryroid kitty. Evelyn, Thank You especially for letting me know that there`s a topical for this. Getting to her ears is a lot better than having to catch and hold her for getting to her mouth. Plus, all of mine LOVE an ear massage. Of course, right now, she`s only borderline, so the vet doesn`t want to treat for the thyroid, but hopefully the stay at the vet`s will get the vomiting under control.
I feel a bit better about my decision, so thank you for writing to a stressed out catmom.
Siamese-mix girlie is doing fine in the garage. She took to sleeping in a box with packing peanuts, so I put a fleece blanket in there today. She`s a charmer--wants to talk and then sleep in a lap. I can`t imagine why someone would walk away from her, but, as I wrote before, I think her previous owner was a college student.
Her only "flaw" so far, if you can call it one, is that she gets irritated when my leg falls asleep when she`s napping on me. I slowly move my leg and kick her off, and she has been known to hiss--just once--to let me know that she wasn`t finished with her nap. She has clearly been a very lonely and stressed-out girl during the past couple of months on the street. She loves people and affection.
Keep thinking about possible adopters for this kitty. When I was at the shelter, I saw (as I looked at the phone when we were trying to call the "owner") that there was a note posted saying "Full for Cats." So, I can be fostering her for awhile, but if I take her to the shelter, I`ll be shortening her life--or another cat`s life (the shelter euthanizes), so I would like to place her myself, if possible.
I will also try the breed rescue to see if she qualifies. She`s definitely got the blue-eyed, people-hugging, big-talking Siamese thing going for her.

You could try posting her picture at your local senior` centre. There may well be a lonely recent widow or widower who would really benefit from her companionship. Having a cat can add years to these people`s lives. Maybe pose her on a piece of knitting to show how domesticated she is.

I just noticed on the second picture you posted of Miss Kitty that even though she is supposidly looking to her right...she has her eyes turned to see the person holding the camera.Such a cutie. I would love to take her home but I`m too far away. Evelyn

Yes, she is very sweet, and very focused on humans. She`s a lovey to be sure. I printed up flyers to hand to my neighbors and friends. I want her to find a very good, and very forever, home. No more students who give her up in four years.
She loves to be held. What a sweetie.

If only I didn`t already have cats, I`d take her in a heartbeat!

She found the right person to ease her back into human company and care, Emily. I feel like you`ll find her a good home. She`s beautiful and loving, that`s a big plus in adoption. B2

Has anyone suggested www.petfinder.com? You may give that a try.
