You guys really are great. I appreciate the support. It`s so odd because as a vet, I don`t usually panic. As a mother I find myself losing my mind every time I hear the word Mosul come from the TV. I still haven`t heard from Jeremy. I`m sure things are crazy right now as it was the Stryker Brigade (his unit).

Cate, I`m sorry for your community`s loss.

It`s kind of bittersweet around here today as one of the Medic Flight units are coming home in about an hour and yet this attack is on everyone`s mind. Because the guys in this community are helicopter pilots they travel all over so you can imagine there are a lot of worried wives here right now.

Thanks again. I really do appreciate it.

Peace,
Jean

Jean,

We`re here for you and I hope our support helps you a little bit through what can only be described as agony for you and all the wives and mothers.

Oh Jean-

They are only doing what`s been asked of them, and yet, it`s at a great cost. We who remain behind must have a specific job to do-and so we will.

Gerlinde,

I`m sorry to hear you are having health problems. Tests are also no fun and I hope you are soon through with them with good results. So add a get well, feel better message to your birthday wishes. It might be a good time to get some rest and do some fun knitting. :-}

Gerlinde, On this cold snowy morning, I wish you the very best in relation to all the tests you have had. Take this opportunity to get some extra rest; read some extra or do a pleasant knitting project. We wish all the best. Jamie

The only thing good about waiting and getting tests, is all that time in the office or hospital for knitting when you CANT fold the laundry, put away the dishes or all the other trivial stuff that can get in the way of one`s true destiny: the NEEDLES. Hope your results come out well, and helpful. Daryl

I wanted to thank you all for the warm welcome.I`m 54,disabled,and a grandma of 3. I had two children. My daughter Gina will be 29 this August. I lost my son Sal, 22 months ago at the age of 29. I have only very recently forced myself to get back into crocheting, mainly to occupy my mind. At the urging of a friend, I joined a Yahoo group called Crochetlist and it was while reading a post there, that I heard of your chat site.
So once again, thank you for allowing me into your discussion group and I promise not to post on the days that I`m wallowing in self pity.
It seems like a very friendly group and that`s just what I need...new friends. Thank you.

Karen--

It`s ok. I have found this to be one VERY interesting and VERY encouraging group. Focus on what you can bring to the mix when you have a rough day.

What`s on your needle/hook?

Hi Bets. Right now I have a couple of pillows that I crocheted and are waiting to be lined, a really beautiful afghan done in panels , and a christening cape. How about you? Even though I`ve been crocheting since I was 17, I`ve always used the same yarns. Red Heart, LionBrand..the common ones. I`m looking forward to learning about all the new brands from the group.
It`s 6:30 a.m. here in NY and I see my oldest grandson is waking up. Thanks for the reply .

Oh Karen! You have some real yarn treats in store. We love the Peruvian Collection Highland Wool (referred to here as HW) for its soft hand, stitch definition, bargain price and 98 (!) colors. Another pair of favorites are the Peruvian Collection (PC)
Baby Silk (BS) and Baby Cashmere (BC). I also have a real fondness for the Jo Sharp Silkroad DK tweed.
This group has been a real lifeline to me during rough times. I don`t have an easy time talking about myself but just being part of this chat gives me a real sense of warmth and support. (And I am doing well now - thank goodness!)

A Christening cape sounds really neat. I don`t think I have ever seen one. Tell us all about it.

Those yarns sound wonderful. I checked out the gallery here and I was especially drawn to the silk items. Everyone here is very talented. I`m a novice compared to all of you. I`ve never knitted but I just read the bios and Judy lives a few minutes from me. Maybe we can meet some day and I could get some tips.
I`m glad to hear that this group has been a support for you. That gives me hope.
