Hi Everyone! I`ve lurked long enough, so I figured it was time to formally introduce myself to you. I live in Fort McMurray, where the summer days are very, very long, and the winter days are very, very short and very, very cold. It`s not unusual for the temp. to reach -40 Celsius. That gives me plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful woolen yarns that show up at this site, and do more with them than simply pet them!! Anyway, you`ll learn more about me by reading my bio. It`s nice to be among such a diverse, and knowledgeable group of knitters! Liz

Hi Liz, Now I know why you like and use some of those wonderfully warm wool products! Such an interesting life and career you`ve had. We`d love to view some of your creations, but perhaps you may be like I am, technically challenged. I haven`t mastered jpg photos and relaying them. It`s good to have you participating with the discussions here! Jamie

Liz,
Very interesting bio. Isn`t it great that you`ve been able to feed both sides of your soul? Besides, math is crucial to knitting and sewing, so it`s all good. :-} Welcome to the group, I think this is a special place with so many talented people. Benne

Thanks very much for the warm welcome! I promise to add a photo to my bio, as soon as my husband takes one that I approve of!! I feel very fortunate that I`m able to work in a job that I love (*almost* as much as my passion for fibres, but *not* quite...). My boss came into my office earlier today and told me I could leave whenever I wanted. I told him "thanks very much for the offer, but I think I`ll stay until quitting time and get some work done". How`s that for dedication?
I`ve seen incredible talent displayed here, and I`m going to very much enjoy the challenge of keeping up with everyone. Good going! Liz

Welcome aboard-but you have to tell us what to call you-right now our choices are "Kay-Elle", "Kale" or "Kluh"! (Dodging, but catching, the yarn thrown at me!) ;-)

Thanks, all -- Klutz is probably most apt but I do like Kale: sturdy, green, and ruffed about the edges. My name is Karen but you can call me anything so long as you don`t call me late to Peeks (groan)(I really am sorry, just not sorry enough to backspace or delete).
[Bets, kindly toss back that nice ball of Baby Silk I just slung at you -- I have designs on it;)
