Again, thanks for the grand welcome.
Patw, my plane knitting is a beautiful shell in the camel yarn Elann had last fall. I am nearly done with a rough, tweedy wool birdwatching sweater (pattern acquired here), got partway through a shell in Online Allegra and decided it would be better served in a completely different pattern (there was insufficient yarn of one color so I bought two related colors and was knitting both in staggered rows. I don`t like the striping, even though it`s not very distinct, and am thinking I would do better to have, say, 2/3 of the front in one color, then do a vertical cable using both colors half and half, then 1/3 in the other color, reversing the colors for the back). I am doing a scarf in a leafy lace pattern with boucle yarn for instant gratification (but keep having to rip out what I do late at night when I`m falling asleep and the leaves appear to have galls) and what might be a scarf and might be an inset (it`s about 10" x 11") in another shell.
Cheers

Welcome, Karen! It`s great to hear new voices at the site and I`m glad you delurked. It`s really not so bad, is it? ;-} Another birdwatcher!!! I`m excited, birds, books, and knitting are my passions. Oh, and the Tennessee Titans football. Benne

So glad to see your Bio, Kelly. There are many of us who don`t have a knitting group to go to either, so we`re all right here! Your daughters are young - do they like you to knit for them still? Les

Welcome, Kellygirl. I glad you found a knitting group. Like Les said, this is the local knitting group for many of us. I`ve learned so much here from my "local" knitter friends. :-}
