What`s on the needles, and how are your UFOs doing? Mine is still gathering dust, and I had to frog a lot this morning on Sea Salt. You?

Well, I STILL have the evil Green Mohair that I just can`t finish....am thinking about frogging (if I can) I think it`s a hopeless cause.

I`m just finishing up a "bucket bag" to felt. It looks like those bags you hand around a horse`s head with their feed in it. I never follow a pattern exactly. I start with one but by the time I`ve finished, I have changed many parts. Sometimes it turns out good and sometimes it`s froggin time. I frogged a bunch of stuff last week. Now I`m ready to make some special scarves with my Fleece Artist hand dyed wool. I`ve been looking at it for a couple of weeks just wondering what the best thing is to do. Wish I had the patience to knit lace but I know I would never ever wear it. I`m also knitting some baby shoes from Zoe Mellor`s book. Wish I had the talent that Shui Kuen has. Her art looks so professional. Evelyn

Bets: I am thinking about my next project. Will go to my boxes today and dig some yarn out. Thinking about a chucky pullover. I had been working on lace yarn too long. Need some project which can reduce my stash fast. Shui Kuen

What`s on my needles? Would that be recently or those still in needles from the distant past? HA! I have a Louet mohair lace shawl in ruby red, going along swimmingly, and a very simple Debbie Bliss sweater from VK using the Cotton Denim Aran. Both of these projects MUST be done soon because I plan on taking them to Salt Spring with me. That`s what I get for giving away all my shawls. lol Plus I`m going to borrow back the poncho I made for Nic for Christmas last year to take with me. I figure a comfy sweater, mohair shawl and a not too heavy poncho out to cover me (so to speak ;-}} for any cool weather.
In addition, I have two projects that will require about an hour each to completely finish. One involves sewing on buttons. The problem is, the buttons. I have to find some I like for the cape. It`s a gift for my friend Marge.
Oops! Gotta go! YIKES! Mass starts in 30 minutes! Bye! Benne

I am glad the question is what`s on the needles and not what`s in all the boxes beside the bed.
I`ve got Parfait Play from Spring 2005 IK on the needles today, with high hopes for it being off the needles some time this week. After that, there`s a zany sock, a dusty pink shawl necked cardi, and an HW baby sweater. Nothing too overwhelming as long as what arrived yesterday doesn`t beg to be knit up NOW.
Oh, in full disclosure, I have 2 baby shower gifts to bring to closure (quite literally) with buttons and gift wrapping. They can no longer wait.
Off to cook so the knitting can commense sooner rather than later. Bri

I have finally started the Karabella shawl in Jo Sharp Mohair in velvet. I had to frog a couple of times and finally realized I needed larger needles to get the lacy look. I am also working on a Soleil in Rowan Linen Drape, in lavender. I am still looking for patterns for the Katia Alba. I found a couple of free ones here that I am going to look over. Finally, 3 things just for me!

I`m going gangbusters on the green mohair afgahn (considering the very little knitting time I`ve had). Also made some progress on the nanny T - down to the bottom lace edging. Have 2 other projects in the early design phase. Too early to talk about.

Too many things --- am about to finish the Cotton Braid sweater I`ve dallied over all summer until it is too late to wear it. Working on the Optik sweater, one brainless scarf in Quest/Optik, silk beaded scarf in Jaeger silk: I must have multiple personalities and need a project for each one!

Making a dent on The Green Mohair Monster. When I went to pin the sleeves I realized that the armholes were too long, so yes, ripping again, but at least I only had to reknit the neck shaping of the front, the back just needed to be ripped back as it is flat. But TA DA, I`m now knitting the button band and it fits MUCH better so I`m a happier camper for being forced to do what I needed to do. Then just seam it UP. Still have to put the buttons on DD#2`s lavender cotton. ON the needles, Pretty Comfy sock in Esprit, using Alice`s two needle technique, purple Mayfair pullover, Clapotis with BrooksFarm sport weight mohair from MSWF, Peridot BS Flower Shawl. I am NOT looking at the angora! Daryl

My main project is the Summer in Kansas shawl in sage Jaggerspun Superfine Merino. There is a picture of the pattern here:
http://www.blackberry-ridge.com/smrknsas.htm
Then I have a few smaller projects. A Crest of the Wave stole that seems to be taking forever. I just started two other projects, a lace cowl and a pair of socks for Hub.

It`s a lovely shawl and I`m about half way done and have not run into any difficulties. I ordered the pattern and yarn separately. According to the information on the website the pattern calls for laceweight yarn. When I got the pattern it turns out that it was written for icelandic laceweight which weighs in on the heavy side of laceweight. The Blackberry Ridge yarn is probably right for it but the Superfine Merino that I ordered for it is a bit light. Mine will be somewhat more sheer and smaller than it is supposed to be, but what the heck.

No one`s updating blogs (some of the last posts are from 2007) and it`s too hard to check on every single one at Ravelry.
What`s on your needles, what`s on your mind? I`ve been doing some spring knitting, a couple of mindless hats (hats are my knitting equivalent of a trashy novel, I guess). My latest issue of Craft magazine has an article on knitting in designs (picture a Jack Daniels label on a white shirt) that has me thinking a little. I still have entrelac on the needles. The dog is recovering nicely from her surgeries. I am learning about Texas wines. (Is there really any big surprise that the winery that wins the most awards is near Texas A & M? Duh-why didn`t I think of that?)
So that`s it! What`s new with you??

There is alovely purple alpaca and silk scoop neck top sleeves on my needles. They are in a lace pattern. I am putting seed beads in purple on as I knit the lace(in doubled DK). the body is single DK. After threading a lot of beads on single yarn, I find the beads are backed up on the yarn as I knit. Short of unthreading most off the other end of the yarn, I don`t know what to do now. I bit off more than I can knit! And the top is promised to my Darling new DIL to wear on a cruise to happen in 3 weeks. HELP! This klutz needs help!
