Silly me, this didn`t land where I was aiming it. Anyway, after all my searching and planning and measuring and advice-seeking, my young daughter held the fuzzy yarn up to her little head and said, "I`d rather have a hat."

Well, you didn`t raise a stupid girl, she knows January when she sees it. You did see that cute lil peruvian style cap here, didn`t you?

Believe it or not, I think that is one and the same (more or less as I`ll only be using one color). It has ear flaps and long tie cords.

Oh, no problem! I have to live up to my hard-earned reputation as enabler extraordinaire. ;-} Another yarn that`s upcoming that is wonderful and has several of us drooling at the thought of it is the Peruvian Highland Wool. Ann promised us 98 colors!!!!! It is so soft, luminous colors and knits like a dream with wonderful stitch definition. I cannot say enough good things about it. Just thought I`d better let you know ahead of time. We don`t know when, but whenever, it`s gonna fly outta here! Benne

Benne,
I thought that Ann was the enabler extraordinaire (considering that its her business and all. LOL)! But you definately live up to the hard earned rep!

And while we are talking about Highland Wool... let`s mention its springy-bounciness and how every time you walk by a pair of mittens or a hat knitted out of it, you stop and mutter, "Gosh, that is just the most perfect wool there ever was" and how you do this, inspite of your best efforts to just get on with your life, 20 times a day, until you finally shove the mittens or hat into a basket somewhere out of sight, then find yourself going back and peeking in anyway, mumbling about how that yarn was six months ago... eight months ago... ten months ago... and it`s time to get over it and get on with your life... and other yarns come and go and steal your love and attention for awhile, but late at night, it is the Highland Wool you are dreaming about, and when the whole house is fast asleep, it is the Highland Wool you get up and touch just once more before getting back to whatever other WIPs you are working on...
Let`s talk about how it would be less dangerous to yell "FIRE!" in a crowded theater than to yell "HIGHLAND WOOL!" on the Elann website... let`s talk about how the Ruby disappeared faster than real Rubies from India, even after it was re-stocked...
And let`s talk about how the Highland Wool actually communicates with its knitter. No, I`m not hallucinating... mine talks to me, and I know I`m not the only one. It`s so willing to please, too... just the other day I told some of it that I wanted to see how it will look when it`s blocked, but I dare not take it off the needles just yet and loose the lace... so it stretched itself out and self-blocked itself for me and said, "I`ll look pretty much like this... Do you like me?" And I told it I loved it, and it said if I wanted it to look a little different, it could do that, too.
The Highland Wool is so eager to please that if you make mistakes, it will unravel and re-knit itself back without the mistakes when are not looking... so every time you look at your work, the Highland Wool makes you say, "Damn, I`m good!"
I could go on, but I hear the bells ringing at the Church of Yarn, which means it is Highland Wool hour, and time to go worship.

And the beat goes on and the sheep turn about and wiggle their butts proudly and the people in the pews are doing the wave and the music is lifting the roof and the hurricane scientists are sending in the planes with the microwave radiometers to check the windspeed as the roof begins to lift a little at the corners and the yarn itself begins to levitate...
ALL HAIL, HIGHLAND WOOL!!!!!!!
And a lone bagpipe begins to join in, and somebody slaps the piper upside the head and says, "Not THAT Highland, you moron!"

Thank you all so much for the encouragement. I have ordered the book "Last Minute Gifts". It seems that there are all of the suggestions you made in this book. I am excited to be part of your knitting world. Should I tell you all about myself or don`t you get personal? And yes, I will post what I do. Right now Iam making yet another scarf. I can`t seem to stop knitting no matter what. LOL Thanks again

Thank you all for your comments on my latest sweater. One nice thing about Ravelry, I can see the progress of my weight loss when I look at my picture in various sweaters. I dropped out of WW but have continued to be careful about what I eat.
I love the KP&S patterns. This was my 7th different one. I am not totally crazy about raglan shoulders though so the next one I make will be modified with the help of Knitting From The Top by Barbara Walker.

I`m very interested in that next sweater of yours, Cate! I have that book and have been contemplating a sweater with sleeves from the top down that wasn`t just drop shoulders (I have done those in the past.)
And those pictures of yourself loosing weight, one sweater at a time - do you have them printed out in a book? You really ought to. What a motivator when the tempting morsel is looking better and better...

I`m interested too! It`s on my mental "to do" list--to try the set in sleeve from the top. I keep reading and re-reading the directions. Keep us posted.
