Hi there, I`ve just ordered some classic elite tweed in cranberry (yum!) but am not sure what I`m getting myself into, having never knit with it before. Ideally, I`d like to knit my mum a cardi - what`s the itch rating on it? How does it wear?
Are there any veteran knitters out there willing to lend me advice?
Cheers,
Sophie

Hi Sophie I ordered the charcoal to make the `not-so-warm` Einstein coat. Also a skein each of the cranberry, light grey, and blue for a coloured edging or for a hat to go with it. I expect it to be a little scratchy next to the skin, but over a shirt should be fine. I`m always pleased with Classic Elite yarns - they have substance. It should arrive tomorrow afternoon, so I`ll have the knitters who are here for the get-to-gether feel it and report.

Hi Sophie,
I`ve only knitted a little swatch from my "sample skeins" subscription, but I can tell you that there`s little to no itch (I`m quite sensitive to wool itch, and I would be okay wearing this next to my skin). It doesn`t seem like it will pill much, either, but this is just a guess, I`ve only washed the swatch once. I think a cardi out of it would be terrific. :-)

Hi Sophie, Not to be an enabler (not) but a subscription to the samples is a great way to get to know the characteristics of the offerings. And a great source of knitting daydreams. Cate
