I just got my Esprit and matching Sonata shipment... OH MY GODDESS!!!!!
They are so perfect together... I knit a swatch of the Esprit, and all my reservations are gone... I love it... it knits up just as easily and quickly as its color-matched sister, Sonata does!
And so, next, I switched from one to the other in the swatch, and the only difference between them is that the Esprit is a little more velvety, both in looks and feel... and, of course, the Esprit is more elastic!
This really IS going to solve the age-old "cotton problem"... cotton ribbings and cuffs and necks and hat bands for summer hats and every place where you want the cotton to stretch back the way wool would, not stretch forever farther out... oh this is so cool!
My Mom wants me to get her some to match the colors of her L.L. Bean cotton sweaters whose sleeve cuffs have all stretched out beyond being bearable... if not matching, then coordinating... she`s going to redo (or have me redo?) the cuffs and hems in Esprit. Oh, oh, oh, I want to drop that Casual Cables and dive into the Esprit RIGHT NOW.... oh, oh, oh...
Making the Esprit in colors to match the Sonata was BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!

I spent the weekend in a fever of anticipation expecting the yarn to arrive Monday or Tuesday...only to be emailed on Monday that Elann had a computer glitch and had held my order pending checking with me whether an order shorted by one skein was OK (it was!) So now I am still waiting - just one of those things!

I should have mentioned that this extra time has allowed me to design about 10 more possible sweaters for the yarn!

Oh great, Marion, more patterns! I love it! Do you think I could get a copy of your DK drop shoulder Gracious Cables pattern? I insist you let me pay for postage. I mean it, no arguing young lady. E me your address and I`ll send it. Notice I`ve already assumed you are going to say yes, impudent little wench that I am. lol
BTW, you are runner-up for enabler of the day. I think you and MacChick must be getting payment from Ann in extra skeins. LOL

Yes, I`m going to get the DK version out to everyone who requested the original pattern. The sleeves, by the way, are surprisingly flattering to those of us who have, um, developed a certain unflattering swinginess in the upper arm...
