Marion, I can see why you are proud of that romper, it is so cute. I love the checkerboard with the penguins and the colors are great. BTW, another congrats is in order on your novel. You must let us know when it comes out, I want to buy a copy, send it to you and get you to autograph if for me. You are a truly a multi-talented woman and I think you`re very hip! :} Benne

Wow, Marion, you also design Intarsia! My 11-yr old son came wandering in while I was on the Chat screen, immediately spotted the penguin and thought it was "so cool"--I must try this technique sometime if only to impress him!

Thanks everyone...I`ve no idea when the book will be out, it`s being published by Molasses publishers, opps, I mean ABPG, they just seem to move like molasses. It was the fact that I didn`t make a pattern for this romper(and wished that I had) that made me start writing down all (or most) of my patterns so I`m afraid I can`t provide this one, unless I try to recreate it, and frankly, I`d rather knit! You`ve all been very good for my knitting ego, thank you very sincerely!

If you ever get the itch to chart the penguin please let me know! I`d like to incorporate it on a sweater for either DS or PLB! I wonder if I cut, paste, and enlarge the snap shot I could figure it out! Might be worth a try. You wouldn`t happen to remember the gauge would you?

I made it with Sandnes Mandarin, 21 sts = 4 inches on perhaps a 4 needle. I think I have the chart.

The book is all done, and was accepted by the publisher in 2001...still not published. I think it`s in cover design right now. It`s a novel concerning the investment industry and the people who work at a dysfunctional investment management firm. It`s set in Rochester, NY and on Oak Island, NC. It`s called PERSONAL PAPERS. Thank you for your kind words about the romper!

Great job on the romper - it is too cute! Great job on the novel! Perhaps a little `just` revenge in the plot?! Who might the protagonist be based on? Well done! Lesley

There was a certain satisfaction in writing it, I do admit....

I think this penguin is so cute! I am instantly picturing a lap-size afghan made of blocks of different animals like this one... or all penguins... I`ve gotta believe that would be a popular item at a Pittsburg Penguins Hockey game! Even a hat with one of these would be way cool for those fans!
