It`s wonderful to see the two of you looking so happy and proud to be together. Treasure your gran, she sounds like a real sweetie. You can certainly tell she`s pleased with her pretty new shawl. Thanks for posting this pic. I miss my grandmother very much and think of her every day but your picture reminded me of how much we enhoyed being together. :-}

She has had a hard life but is so cheerful and happy and upbeat all the time. She is the social butterfly of her apartment complex. Get this, until this year she still drove (ok, it was scary and no one would ride with her!) and she would got to the nursing homes, with her guitar, to cheer up the "old people". Most of them were younger than her! She doesn`t hear so well anymore so she sits and smiles at everyone. And she LOVES the attention she gets. Her ex-husband (my grandfather) is 90 and still lives alone. He recently had a stroke but is doing so well he thinks he will get his license back next week (whether or not my Uncle lets him have a car is another story).

The pattern is at knitty.com and they do have it on a person. I am contemplating taking the Alba tank apart and using the yarn for the knitty pattern but without the details on the bottom. I don`t think the Alba would enhance the details because it is so thick.
