That must`ve taken forever! It came out great! I wouldn`t worry about the part where the colorwork is pulling the stitches in... beacuse the part above it is so bright and the part below it so muted, it doesn`t show up that much. Did you knit it top-down or bottom-up? Man, that is a labor of love, there, knitting a man-sized sweater! I have never even considered doing that. I made socks for DH once, and even those seemed to take FOREVER.

Libby, I like this sweater---what pattern did you use? It looks good, and no one would notice the snug part if you didn`t point it out. Tell us more, please!

Your moebius looks good-did you do the circular twist thing as you knit it, or fasten it later? Chris and I were admiring one of these earlier in the week---is yours capelet size or scarf sized?

Jeezo Pete, Libby! If I had knitted this sweater, I would have had it posted 3 minutes after I wove in the last end! :-} It looks terrific and DH looks to be very proud of his wife`s knitting too. I`m secretly glad my DH doesn`t want me to knit for him, I`m thinking of knitting sweaters for pint-size people only. :-} Great colors and I like the pattern.

About that moebius, let`s hear details. I really like those colors. Do you have any more stuff you haven`t shown us? I love pictures!

Libby you did a great job on DH`s sweater! And a perfect fit! Now you`ll have to make another for Karolyn for the Daddy/daughter duo!

Sweater Info:

It is the Tanja pattern from the "Best of Lopi" book and I did it in Gjestal Naturgarn. It knits up very very fast using a 10.5 needle. I have quite a bit of the GN left over but I`m not all that crazy about it as it is quite itchy. I washed it and that did soften it up a bit.

Next time the HW chunky is offered well I`m all about that as it is wonderfully soft and I just have the regular HW and I love it! So I"m gonna use the chunky for the fair isle sweaters in the future.

As for DH he is having a stupid grin on his face when I took the pic! Also the wonderful thing about this sweater is that it fits me as well so it will get double usage! Its gonna be great for camping and around a fire at night!

The Moebius is casted on the Elizabeth Zimmerman/Cat Bordhi way (its an invisible cast on but instead of using a spare piece of thread, use the bottom of a circular needle and it will automatically get the half twist in when you go to knit it up. Very simple and IMHO it is much easier than the cast on that Alice suggested a while back). OK now for the details. Its done in Berroco Hush. and I have to say that I just LOVE this yarn. If Elann gets this, I`m going to get a healthy supply of it! It used 4 skeins but would be just fine with 3. I just wanted it a bit wider (you knit from the middle out) Now this is rather expensive as I think that I paid about $8-10/skein for it. I did a simple stocking stich and when doing this particular stitch on the moebius, it will appear as half of it is knitted and the other half is purled. Now you cant really see this phenomenon on this particular moebius due to the nature of the yarn but rest assured that is what happened. It was simply amazing. Next I want to try a knit/purl one.... where I knit 3 rows and then purl 3 rows and I think that the effect will be very similar to ribbing but with it reversing directions halfway through. it should be interresting.

As for other projects that I forgot to take pics of. I did a scarf for my SIL and that was out of Mango Moon recycled silk. It came out great and I`m kicking myself for not taking a pic of it. I also did a poncho for my sister and sent it to her. Again I wasnt thinking. Well I talked to her today and she is gonna take a pic and send it to me. She said that she has received many compliments on it and many people wanted to know where they could buy it! And when she told them that I made it, they wanted the pattern! How awsome is that! Well the pattern was from VK last fall (I think) and substituted yarn as I always do!

thanks for the encouragement
