I think there is a generosity of spirit here, without competition. Unless it`s for those last balls of whatever yarn we`re all lusting after. ;-} I think all of us, regardless of our ages, are still "becoming" and everyone here is very supportive of one another in that process. There`s a lot more going on here than knitting. There`s support, affirmation, generosity, kindness and a love of beauty. And that just scratches the surface. Best bunch of girlfriends I ever had. :-}
Benne

Hi Bets, Gracious is certainly part of it. What came to mind on reading your post was KIND--somehow gracious and kind go together. And, I agree, perhaps we are learning by imitation. So my thanks to all for your kind and gracious communications and friendships. Jamie

Benne and I were talking the other night-her DH is in awe of this circle of friends. T`s DH willingly volunteers to cheerfully take messages if I catch him on the phone. My DH is in awe of the kindness and generosity of this group-he says you`re a classy bunch. Scully`s DH likes it that SHE has knitting buds, and we met on this forum. Shui Kuen`s husband supports her friendships here, as does David, Charles, Christopher and many others-it`s pretty positive all the way around.

I was looking at all the congratulations and encouragement for Bri and PatW today, and it came to me that---our adjective is "gracious". (Even if we aren`t that way naturally, we are learning by imitation....;-)

la la la--so smug for figuring it out!
