I, too, am a doting cat person--also one with a feline "helper" at the keyboard. She gets so JEALOUS that the computer gets the attention that she has to march upon the keyboard and sit down to stare at me.

I also didn`t like the first name that I chose. If you go in and erase all your cookies from elann, you will get to put in a new name for the chat room. The chatroom name seems to be stored in a cookie. After I erased all the cookies from Elann, then I was able to input my preferred chat name.

It`s great to have a new face at the site. My cat Jinx helps me out with my knitting and especially likes to help me when I`m taking pictures of my projects. He`s such a ham! I think I bought more yarn here at first because I didn`t have much of a stash. Well, now that that`s out of the way and my stash is ahem, considerable, I am trying to slow down. With limited success so far. ;-} You sound like you have an active knitting life so I think you probably need a big stash. Oops, there I go enabling again. lol

I am a Yarnaholic; I have `way more yarn than I could knit up in a year, although I don`t know how many yards I have! LOL! I just finished a Clapotis in Schaefers` Laurel mercerized cotton, and a Fiber Trends Baby Poncho for my soon-to-be-born cousin in TLC Wiggles in red, blue, yellow and purple. Besides some charity projects, my next big project will be a vest for my DH in Highland Wool in Dusty Teal. He chose an allover cable pattern, so I`m realistically thinking he may get the vest in time for next winter! I am relatively new here too and not one of the most active participants, so I guess I can concur with your assessment of the the knitting expertise and quality of the projects without sounding like I am tooting my own horn!...lol
Let me add that the human quality is of the highest caliber, too, as is the sense of humor and generosity.

One word of caution, though: if you are not a yarnaholic yet, watch out...lol

I couldn`t figure out how to change from my account name to my usual screen name, which is CatBookMom. I`ve been reading posts on this Chat Center now for a month or so, having become a very happy member of the group of knitters and crocheters who are clued in to the great values and yarns found here at Elann. I`ve been hanging out on the About Knitting forum for a year or so, and of course found out about Elann through the fans who talk about Elann over there.

You all have such lovely pix of your projects, and I really am amazed by the amount of knitting expertise here, and what you have all written up as your bio`s.
