Apparently I`m a Knitting Purist. Feck, I hate it when a silly wee quiz has you pegged - I wanted to be something more exotic! I think this is code for "Anal Knitter".

"You appear to be a Knitting Purist. You are an accomplished knitter producing beautiful pieces with a classic feel. You sometimes lament losing half of your local yarn shop to garish novelty yarns. Perhaps you consider fun fur scarves the bane of knitting society and prefer to steer new knitters towards the wool and cotton blends. Some might call you a bit of an elitist but you know that you`ve been doing this craft long enough to respect the history behind it and honor it with beautiful piece that can last a lifetime."

Well here`s my results although I don`t think I actually qualify for a "Guru" status. I think that is reserved for folks who can actually knit things without patterns or instructions (MacChick, Shui Ken, Eileen, Bets, etc, etc.). Now I really gotta get out in that fog and get things picked for market tomorrow!

"What Kind of Knitter Are You?" - Results:

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can`t imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.

What a fun site.Well here it goes:

Well that would be me.I have a knitting project in the car and the truck and never go anywhere without my Knittingbag.I just hate that I do fit into a norm.Always thought of me as Unique-darn.

Okay, I just pulled up all the possible results and I think mine is wrong. I think Knitting Adventurest has me pegged.

Well, I took the quiz and it said I`m a knitting guru but I didn`t read all the possibilities. Since I`m a Pisces, I had trouble answering the questions because portions of each answer applied to me. HA! Don`t you think there`s a little of each category in all of us? We refuse to be categorized, we have lots of faith otherwise we`d never cast on or buy the first skein of yarn, we`re all full of hope and belief in ourselves that we can make something wonderful from a piece of string and a couple of sticks, we have a love of adventure and determination to get it right, intellectually curious because we are always seeking to improve our skills, generous because many of us knit for others, and we are doing something because we love doing it, Now that I think about it, knitters set a pretty high standard for human behaviour! ;-}

The first time I was pegged as Knitting Purist; the second time (guess I changed an answer) Knitting Adventurer. I`d like to be categorized as Knitting Goddess! It`s a fun quiz! Thanks for sharing. Jamie

Looks like I`m primarily a Guru with a touch of adventurist added...I agree that there were too many questions that partially applied...so final answer is we just GOOD ELANNITES who love yarn and all the things simple or complicated we can make with it!

Fran!

It`s great to see you back - please post more, WE MISS YOU!

I agree, there were some questions where little bits of the answer applied - especially as I am torn where novelty yarns are concerned: Shiny - yes, Fuzzy - no.

I came back as a knitting Goddess
You appear to be a Knitting Goddess. You are constantly giving and are unconcerned with reward, you simply want others to love knitting as much as you do. If someone wants to knit miles of novelty yarns, you are there for them. If someone wants to learn short row shaping, you can help. There are no taboos in knitting, only opportunities to grow. Everyone should have friend like you around if they want to learn to knit, and there`s a good chance that your passion has rubbed off on a few others.

Don`t know how I got that result lol

My results came back as a knitting adventurer. but i have to say that there a couple of answers that were just not there. such as: on the last question about what you hated most about knitting, they forgot to put as an answer "I hate the finishing and sewing process" because that would be my answer.

anyway it was a fun quiz! thank for sharing

According to the quizzes, I am knitting purist, too. I think I am more a guru.

I got "Knitting Adventurer" and I think that is about right. There`s a little purist and a lot of novice in me, but I don`t "scare off". Notice there`s a link on all the results pages to http://marniemaclean.com/ - lots of free patterns! (I like that Frog Pond Infant Hat, top right.)

Oooo Libby, yep I wish they had included that as one of the answers to last question. When I first did the quiz I tried not to answer that question because none of the answers really applied to me.
Hmmmm, I wonder what the baby would be if she took the quiz. Knitting Novice or Knitting Apprentice. Who knows maybe even a Knitting Guru.:)

Heather,

I dont think she qualifies for knitting novice as she has been acquiring the skill since conception! i think that she is more of a knitting apprentice! so does that make me a knitting guru as I have to give her lessons time and again? LOL

I`m thinking Knitting Goddess status is probably more in line. And I think you`re rightthe baby does qualify for the Knitting Apprentice.

Hmmm, I qualify as Knitting Dork.

There is no description, just my picture.

It said I was an adventurer. "Thaaaaat`s niiiiice." I`m with Eileen-I may take it again and pick another answer and see what I get-ok, Guru. Whatever!

Hi Fran, how`s Michigan these days? (Right?)
